Re: Mornington Crescent

Good morning all. It seems that things have calmed down more than a little so the threat of Jabberwocky can be recinded. Mr Twotter, would you care to put the penguins back on standbye?

I reckon that a Bayswater-Embankment shuffle is the order of the day:

Hmmm, off of the front page. I'm sure the Muggles rejoice, but I feel saddened.

Back to Moneyspinners, and Bank.

Re: Mornington Crescent

According to the Eddington rules, which were strictly enforced by Humphrey Lyttleton , (under these rules after several years you go back to where you started) it is possible to play with DLR stations. Accordingly I play Mudchute. This almost always results in the game finishing but there is one station in west London on the Underground which is an antidote. Let us see whether any of you can guess which one.

Re: Mornington Crescent

Too easy my contended rodent.

If you had read up in your Gadworthy and Clackett (1947) you would realise that Pontoon Dock can be easily countered with an east facing west end pass, followed by a sqaure circle line gambit. Which brings me very nicely to

Re: Mornington Crescent

as clearly, my presence on this thread is obtaining some kind of unwelcome credibility, it is my intense pleasure to announce that I will be starting a new thread of mornington crescent and I will have the extreme pleasure of inviting nobody, thus exclusively playing with myself. Anyone who objects, please carve your objections into the elm tree standing at the East Bound platform at Northfields.

Tickety boo? Tickety boo be damned, sir!

I take offence to that remark, and as defined under Section 23 of the Offences Against the Mornington Crescent Players Act of the MCRA of Players, I do challenge you to a Deul. Best station wins!

Oh, am I standing behind you? Sorry about that old chap.

Goldhawk Road - often wondered how that one got it's name. Aren't you creeled now, old boy?

Nah, I meant nosefirst who's been creel'ed because of the Gold in Goldhawk.

Snaresbrook - and that's another uncommon name, is it not?

Re: Mornington Crescent

Creeled? 'Fraid not, Mr Bear. One has noticed however, that your last move has placed you in a perilous position, regarding spoon. Mr G's swithuns is a masterly play, considering the limitations of the St Piran's Angular Obfuscation as a gambit in the face of an opponent threatened with spoon. Bravo!
