Surprised that nobody has commented upon the demise of Brigadier Charles-Bratwurst-Fotheringhey. Guess he was a bit before most of our times, but certainly a former legend of the game. he was, unusually, not tainted by the sort of controversy normally attached to those who become legends in this supposedly noble but sometimes ignobel game.
Anyway, SRT has cleverly played East Acton, requiring one to reply with Northumberland Park. Should keep us all on our toes and prompt some interesting play!

Hmm, well, that's a toughie, isn't it? I think that I will have to, after refering to the Rulebook (General) of 1922, play a very bold move not seen since the 1937 game between Possington and Elvers when no less a person than Mr Churchill himself was an observer.
There's only one play to make, really, judging by that historic match and that is Kensington (Olympia).

Once again I feel I must comment on the high calibre of the recent moves on this game!
Using my Cribbits notation with reference to the MacPherson addendum (1974) I hereby invoke a 'Posslethwaite gambit' and make short shrift to
