fish Second coming

Hi everyone, its great to be back in Blighty after such a long absence. As you all know I've been flying missionaries around Central Africa since I retired from BA and have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of it. Its not quite what I expected but I've had some great fun along the way. Anyway I'd just like to say thanks to all my friends who sent me kind words of encouragement, sorry i couldn't reply at the time but E-mail and internet is still in its infancy where I've been.

Amazing

2 whole days and this thread title didn't get the obvious response! Either you are losing your touch JLM, or the "Hotel Lobby Rule" is really winning out

(It almost dropped off the bottom of the page - let's give 'em another chance)

Thumbs up

Jesus is probably the only one who does. You sound like yet another sad old man who feels that aviation won't survive without you!

There you are, is THAT the type of response you hoped to see??!! Unfortunately it's true, some of those old baskets really believe that they have something to give to aviation - to the detriment of the up and comings who NEED the hours and experience to make a career.

For sure it's a wind up - but it's based on true life experiences.

Cool

Hey Elk Ive always found my second coming to be much better and more satisfying than the first. The first coming is a frantic bottom-barrel dregs clean-out. The second one has much more voltage and a higher Oh wow! factor. My knees get more wobbley too. You?

I wondered where everybody got too

Seriously though, if that's really what you were doing for the last 6 months, "good on yer" - if that's not "giving something" I don't know what is

G-GBWY

Yeh Judy. Me and KM form a part of the wider PPRuNe JLM & OCB Post-Derailment Committee. I think we ran this one right into the platform!

Slasher:

Does that mean you are a pair of old buffers, or am I on the wrong track?

Question

Gees Kaptin M what’s up with you mate

They retire BA pilots at 55 ten years earlier than Ryanair pilots, a bit soon to be donning the slippers & pipe routine don’t you think. I’m no more fond of the godsquadders than you but if JLM can squeeze 5 or 10 more years out of his aviation career, fair juice to him, it doesn’t make him sad or selfish or anything else, just someone who wants to make the most out of his life. (he only has one) & do the career he was trained for & enjoys for as long as he can, who wouldn’t. He’s not the first BA pilot I’ve seen wander to wider pastures after being left out to graze at such a relatively young age & I’ve done nothing but encourage them in their endeavours, they find it hard enough as it is. So I’m afraid mate I’ll have to disagree with you on this one even in jest. Sorry!

Emerald xxx
