Guardia di Finanza killing Italian Private Aviation

My friend recently took his private helicopter from Sweden to Italy, after he arrived he made an internal flight within Italy and when he landed the Guardia di Finanza searched the aircraft and also searched him personally (including his wallet) saying that he may be legible to pay visitors taxes!!!!!!!

What is going on in Italy at the moment with helicopters and why is the Guardia di Finanza wanting to stop all private helicopter flights?

It Italy going to become a communist country just when more Russians are buying private helicopters???

Sweden.

But - the owner spoke to another helicopter owner in Italy (an Italian with his own Italian registered helicopter) who said that even he had been searched by the Guardia di Finanza!

Actually the equation of the GdF is:
aircraft/heli owner = potential tax evader
and it is up to you to demonstrate you are not a crook

Comunisti.....

You dont' say, the Italian police actually doing their job for once. That must have been such a shock to him that he got his medical back only after several months of therapy.

I suggest your friend needs to get off his high horse and stop thinking that he's soooo special and should only get cuddles and free candy wherever he lands his precious chopper. 'cause he isn't, and he won't. Anytime he lands he could get checked by police, customs, CAA and whatnot, if he can't man up and handle it he should just stay home and hope the Swedish police never have cause to search his house (with a warrant, obviously).

Gridare a squarciagola "Aiuto, i comunisti!"
