ICAO english proficiency
Ciao a tutti! sto facendo un ppl in florida..la scuola non mi vuole far volare se non supero prima il test ICAO level 4..qualcuno sa dirmi se è una regola per prendere il brevetto privato o se è solo un idea della scuola per farsi pagare anche un costoso corso di inglese??ovviamente il mio inglese è sufficiente ma dovrei attendere un mese per fare il test..rispondete è importante!grazie a tutti

Alla FAA non gliene frega una beneamata mazza se hai o non hai il livello ICAO 4/5/6.
Io sono andato negli States con il PPL italiano (e la lettera di verfica FAA, of course) con la fonia inglese, senza TEA, e ho volato senza problemi. Magari per te che stai facendo il brevetto lì è diverso, ma non ci giurerei.
Non ho sottomano il tomo FAR/AIM 2011 ma dovrebbe esserci scritto qualcosa a riguardo. Sicuramente ne puoi rimediare uno se stai in Florida: c'è scritto anche di che colore sono le infradito da utilizzare per volare

l'aviator college a fort pierce..non so se stare qua un mese a studiare questo benedetto level4 o se andarmi a lamentare perchè nessuno mi aveva detto niente. stare qua un mese senza volare deve essere terribile..

Non riesco a capire dal post se stai facendo i corsi FAA o JAA della EFT, visto che in buona parte sono integrati. per la parte JAA non saprei dirti molto, ma l`FAA ha questi requirement
Effective March 5, 2008, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requires the following certificate holders who operate internationally to have a certificate stating that the holder is proficient in the use of the English language:
Private, commercial, and airline transport pilots with powered aircraft ratings
Flight engineers and flight navigators
Control tower operators
The ability to read, speak, write, and understand English is already a U.S. regulatory eligibility requirement; the FAA Registry began issuing all new certificates with this endorsement on February 11, 2008. The U.S. has notified ICAO that it filed a difference that will extend the U.S. compliance date until March 5, 2009, in order to provide sufficient time for all affected U.S. airman certificate holders to comply with the ICAO Language Proficiency airman certificate endorsement requirements.
Certificates that are ordered as regular replacement certificates will include the endorsement. You can order a replacement certificate on-line or by mail. You will be asked to register with Online Services if you don't already have an on-line account. Note that there is a $2 fee for replacement airmen certificates.
Airmen who request temporary authority or verification of their airman certificate will not have the English proficiency endorsement until the replacement certificate has been requested and the $2 fee paid. If you have questions, you may contact the Airmen Certification Branch toll-free at 1-866-878-2498.

Per un madrelingua la certificazione e' d`ufficio, e` possibile che il tuo inglese non sia cosi' "sufficiente?"

grazie skualo. penso di andare a lamentarmi con la scuola perchè è tutta una scusa per guadagnare 2000dollari di corso di inglese..non pretendo di iniziare il solo se non riesco a capire le comunicazioni ovviamente..ma almeno inizio con l'istruttore! gli altri studenti che sono al corso stanno facendo tutto da zero fino all ATP..ma io sono qua per un semplice ppl e ho problemi di visto oltre al volo di ritorno prenotato!

Se hai intenzione di volare per professione, visto che sei li, fai quel corso e cerca di prendere il level 4 che comunque e' il minimum requirement.
Non credere che tutte le scuole siano degli squali assassini come credi. Le scuole devono mantenere una reputazione e avere un elevato numero di studenti che passano i loro corsi e successivamente si posizionano nel mondo del lavoro; fermo restando che la cosa unica e principale e' la "SAFETY".
