Helicopter landing site night restrictions in Italy
Hi All,
Apologies for the English post but my Italian is non-existant!
I was wondering if anyone could clarify the exact regulations for the use of off -airport landing sites at night in Italy?
As far as I have understood it is not possible to land or take off from non-authorised or unlit pads at night. It has been suggested to me, however, that it is possible to take off from an unlit helipad but not to land there.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for sharing your experience!

vfr/night
Hello,
in brief: VFR night is allowed to and from certified aerodromes and or certified helipads. Of course this implies lighting, but ENAC inspection and approval is required as well. Besides aircraft registered in Italy have to comply with technical requirement that, so far, have banned all Robinsons and some Bells and Eurocopters from night flying.
You definitely cannot just take off, because taking off would be flying. Technically you shoudn't even hover 2 feet off the ground at night.
CFR AIP, ENR - rules of the air -.
Cheers
