Thai executive chairman resigns over excess baggage row

Thai Airways executive chairman Wallop Bhukkanasut has resigned after a probe into allegations that he abused his power to avoid paying for excess luggage on an international flight.

The carrier says that its board had accepted the decision, and that its chairman Ampon Kittiampon would reveal the reasons at a press conference later today.

According to various media reports, Bhukkanasut and his wife failed to pay for 260kg of excess luggage on a flight from Tokyo- to Bangkok. They also reportedly routed it through a special channel to avoid paying taxes and fees.

This resulted in a public outcry and led to the carrier's employee union calling on Bhukkansut to resign.

Thai has posted losses in recent times, but is embarking on a financial turnaround plan led by its new president Piyasvasti Amranand.

Senza contare che Mr. Wallop Bhukkanasut potrebbe uscire dalla porta per rientrare dalla finestra... magari in altre istituzioni Tailandesi, bisognerebbe monitorare la situazione in futuro.
Taita, se ci farai sapere la posizione di Mr. Wallop Bhukkanasut tra... diciamo un annetto/un annetto e mezzo sarebbe un buon esempio di corretta informazione.

magicabula, la corretta informazione (che su questo forum tanto pretendiamo dai giornali) è quando non ci si limita alla sparata scandalistica da prima pagina, ma si continua a tenere informata la platea sull'evolversi della situazione. Con annessi e connessi, anche quando magari non è più di moda.

Vuoi farmi sapere tu il futuro di Mr. Wallop Bhukkanasut ? ma figurati... a me va benissimo, anche se sarebbe più corretto che ce lo facesse sapere colui che lo ha portato ad esempio in questo 3d, taita.
