AMI Req's

Ciao,

Sorry to post in English. My Italian writing skills are not that great. I was wondering what the vision entry req's are for pilot in the AMI. Is laser surgery acceptbale?

Grazi,

I am sorry but I do not agree with you about the fact that everything it's ok.

Beleive me I know alot of guys that got relatives very important in the air force but they did not get in.

UB6IB9

A colleague of mine left the airforce for a laser operation so I don't think it's ok.

Good luck

I know that Bobo Craxi (son of the former italian PM) got in the airforce wearing glasses (no as pilot though) and a friend of mine did not get in because his big toe is few degrees off!!!!
I was not even considered because i am allergic to peas!!!
In all these corps YOU MUST KNOW SOMEONE, my former instructor was accepted in AMI academy (he knew a general) as pilot, but was refused at the medical for the Guardia di Finanza academy!!!!!!! He could fly a jet but not drive a giulietta....
Obviuosly is a contest of power, 30 years ago a Maresciallo would be able to help you, now you need a general and a politician probably. Don't get me started on the recommendation please!!!! i have 100s of stories....

cplpilot, are you another frustrated pilot that did not succeded in entering AMI? And then tried to put the blame on the sistem and not to himself to justify his failure?

i am more attached to my country that all of you, that is why i am getting upset.
I had to leave the country because a doctor at the IML, suspended my licence because i am allergic to peas!!!!!! This is what he said: "i am sure you are ok, but i don't want to take this responsability, this is the address for the Comissione mediaca d'appello , i am sure they will pass you"...
Three years later!!!! i went to Rome, spent 5 minutes in front of some generals and other ass-kisser that after apologizing to me, they give back my licence.
By the way, i am not frustrated because i did not get in the AMI, 15 years ago when all this happend i was happy because i was sure that civil aviation in italy was as good as the military, yah right!!!!

Gufo lascia veramente perdere perchè mi sà che abbiamo un altro amico di Nibbio20.

Mi ricorda tanto qualcuno che vola in spagna no Nibbio20?
