Yes, I'm there for phase 2 on the 12th. Staying at Stour Villa on the thursday night.

wilcoluca 3rd May 2006 20:23

I have just received the confirmation. I'll be at Stour Villa.

wilcoluca 4th May 2006 12:31

ATP Applicants:

Do we need to bring certificates or it is only applicable to Wings Applicant?

superconstellation 4th May 2006 12:46

Thank you dankersoe, and good luck for all.

DickPilot 4th May 2006 15:00

wilcoluca,

If I interpret it correctly, I think we only have to bring a passport. Might be worth bringing everything just incase!

wilcoluca 4th May 2006 15:38

DickPilot,

You're absolutely right. I would bring everything just in case.

I'll see you in Stour Villa. I will arrive in the late afternoon....

ChocksAwayUK 4th May 2006 16:15

No need - when you 'check in' the lady will look at her list to see if you're ATP or Cadet - if you're ATP she'll only ask for passport (and if Cadet, Passport & Certs) and you'll get it back at the end of the day.

Phase 2

:) Hello everyone, I have been selected for phase 2. Just wondering if the maths test is very difficult and if there are any books you may suggest to refresh my maths. I am happy I have been invited to this phase but at the same time I am worried is just a way of them making money... I hope to be fine and I am looking forward to meet some of you.

CTC Phase Three

Hi all

I am through to CTC's Phase three selection (ATP Candidate) at Dibden on 9th May 2006 and was wondering if anyone had any experience of the accomodation in the area good points bad point prices etc???

All help gratefully recieved
Thanks in advance

slow_bird1 4th May 2006 19:05

Sky Wave 4th May 2006 20:28

There is nothing that difficult about the maths test. Go to www.thatquiz.com Choose arithmatic, set it to Add, Subtract, Multiply & Divide, set the difficulty to 100 and tick long B and that should sharpen up your arithmatic skills.

If you're going to Dibden, assuming they don't have any in-house accommodation left, you can't go far wrong with Dale Farm House. I stayed there before my Wings Phase 3, and it's excellent. Lovely place, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast and the place evidently gets a lot of business from CTC candidates - the owners are very knowledgeable about CTC and the various phases of interview, etc.

I think it was £35 for shared bathroom and £40 for en-suite; they will also pick you up from Southampton Central station for £12 as well if necessary. They do seem to get a lot of bookings for nights before selection days, so if you go there it would be wise to book as early as possible - the night I went it was full.

If it IS full, you're probably best asking CTC if they know of anywhere else in the area - it was them who told me about Dale Farm House in the first place. It's not full of guest houses like Stour Road in Christchurch is for Bournemouth selection days.

superconstellation 5th May 2006 11:18

The paper also tell us to wear a suit...is the people normally wearing tie??Thank you.

Sky Wave 5th May 2006 12:04

fai 6th May 2006 22:39

question??

Hi there,

This is my first post on prrune.
Been invited to stage 2 (ATP)

So stage 2 only consists of a mathtest / group discussion and the pilapt?

Thank you

fai 7th May 2006 00:23

P.S.

Are there still atpl questions in stage 2

thank you

Sky Wave 7th May 2006 08:17

fai

Have you read through the previous 7 pages?

As I have posted previously

There is no longer an ATPL test as both the Cadets and ATP applicants now have exactly the same selection process for stages 2 and 3.

So Phase 2 is STILL only Maths Tests (15 questions in 15 minutes) and PILAPT tests.

No group discussions at any stage.

I've read through al the ctc pages. and the more I read through them the more questions i have. (lots of info)

But thanks for you answer.

Louis Euan 7th May 2006 12:36

Can I just wish all you guy's and girl's good luck for the forthcoming selection process. I went through it a couple of years ago now and have to say it worked really well for me. If you do your homework and I have to say act the part you should be fine. Don't try too hard when your there just be professional and curtious yet easy going.

I am now working for T/fly on the 75/767 and living the dream.

Good Luck!!!!!!

wilcoluca 9th May 2006 07:19

What did you guy wear during stage 2 selection?

carbheatout 9th May 2006 10:04

I bought a second hand pilot uniform from a very good website called ebay.

The guys at CTC were pretty impressed with the initiative shown.

Gillespie 9th May 2006 11:19

carbheatout,

Please, please tell me you're joking?!

Why not a captain uniform ? ;)

Seriously, so what did you guys wear when you went trouth phase 2?

Sky Wave 9th May 2006 22:48

Sorry, but I can't believe we are having this conversation. The same thing that you would wear to any interview / selection process.

A Suit, with a conservative tie and nicely polished shoes.

Is it me???

wilcoluca 10th May 2006 08:35

Sky, It was a joke!

Nice one Ben - I empathise with your smilies! See you on the 26th June?

Best of luck, either way, to everyone who sat Phase 3 yesterday. If you didn't make it through you're well placed to have a good shot at the next inevitable opportunity and you did well to get so far.

CTC AQC course

Hi all

I am due to start the CTC AQC course soon, does anyone have any information or advice on the areas I could begin to look at or study in preperation for the course in terms of SIDs STARs proceedures etc or is it better to simply turn up fresh to the course and work from there.

Not flown for a couple of months so was thinking of booking some jet sim time to get an idea of the power/pitch changes etc and to refresh ILS, NBD and one engine out proceedures what do ya think, is it worth it??

All information greatly recieved

Dragstrut..

Mooney12 17th May 2006 16:38

Dragstrut,

The best thing for you to do is learn all the SOP's, profiles and pitch/power setting's they give you. If you get a reasonable grip on those before you start it will be a help.

The first two days of the aqc then go over these profiles and SOP's, clearing up any questions you may have. The following three days are CRM. So you have a whole week of practising with your partner using the carboard bomber in the evenings.

I don't think it is worth booking jet sim time, you have enough time to get up to speed on the course itself.

Transport

Hi everyone I will be soon attending phase 2 in Bournemouth and would like to know how long it does take on a cab from Christchurch train station and also from Bournemouth train station to the training centre. If anyone has recently gone for phase 2 I would appreciate some advice on the day , please PM me. Thank you all for your time.
