TUI MPL Cadet Programme Jan 2024

Hello Aviators!
I am starting this thread if anyone has gone through the TUI MPL sponsored route before. Looking for advise on:
1. Online tests and assessments.
2. One Way Digital Interview-- What kind of questions etc.
3. Assessment Day at TUI Training Centre - what kind of assessments?
4. Flying Test in a Simulator - what to expect?

I am PPL holder with around 200 hours in SEP.

Please comments and advise.

If anyone has any info on past experiences, that would be great

Start date is looking at Sept 2024

Dates for application is between the 2nd January 2024 and will close on 31st January 2024

icedchailatte 19th Dec 2023 18:25

It seems like applications will open on the 8th … second go at it nothing to lose

Orthosie 20th Dec 2023 05:31

I was hoping to apply this year but from the FAQ it seems they've updated the requirements to max 100 flying hours

Poolepilot 28th Dec 2023 01:07

Whilst they're not discouraging PPLs, they're keen on getting everyone to MPL standard. Any additional ratings or too much experience would not be ideal for MPL.

icedchailatte 5th Jan 2024 16:02

they’ve updated the minimum requirement to a grade 6/B for gcse maths.
It seems as though the requirements are more strict this year.

Full_Throttle_ 6th Jan 2024 15:10

Does anyone know, based on last year, the length of time between submitting an online application and being invited to stage 2 online tests? Is it quite a quick turnaround?

Hi - the tests came back through almost immediately last time. Maybe a day later and you had 5 days to complete.

icedchailatte 7th Jan 2024 21:32

Same for me. I got through to the digital interview fairly quickly too even though i scored below average all around as i was doing the assessments from my bed 🤣💀. I think this year it’ll be much harsher to get through to that stage.

flight44 8th Jan 2024 09:21

I keep checking their website, but it looks like the application is still not open.

icedchailatte 8th Jan 2024 10:00

I saw a post saying it should’ve opened at 9am. I think it’s crashed.

joey7415963 8th Jan 2024 10:03

Thought it was just me, still waiting for it to open here too!

TrackingFlights 8th Jan 2024 10:11

The wording on the page has updated, but the job advert isn't live on their jobs page I don't think. There are probably some hardworking and nervous IT people trying to get it up and ensure the load balancing is working fine!

Airplane987 8th Jan 2024 10:36

Website completely down for me now.

krlply 8th Jan 2024 10:37

Me too, hopefully they've taken it offline so they can publish changes :ok:

icedchailatte 8th Jan 2024 11:20

Is it still 30 spaces this year? that hasn’t been specified..

I don't see them doing bigger class sizes if this is a yearly thing.

A320R348 8th Jan 2024 11:31

Anyone actually managed to find the vacancy or start an application yet?

Not yet, I keep seeing the page change and update so they're likely working hard to get it up!

OpticFS 8th Jan 2024 11:37

Sounds the same for everyone with the page updating and crashing hopefully it's up today but i assume they'll have a similar problem to the BA one a few months back where everyone is trying to do assesments instantly causing it to be slow

Diver6000 8th Jan 2024 12:04

Their Instagram has just posted to say applications are now open so it shouldn't be long now - still can't access it myself

Alanga1991 8th Jan 2024 13:45

So just taken a proper look at requirements and I’m sure I’m not the only one disappointed. Now if you have a PPL and 100+ hours, NR, or attempted any ATPLs you’re disqualified. Interesting. I get the logic as they want as little experience as possible. But can’t shake the feeling that this indirectly discriminates against folk who simply cannot afford integrated and have decided to do it the modular way, and slowly trudge their way through training while juggling work. Or family as well.

Why do I say that? I don’t know many people who plan to go integrated but still spend money on a PPL/100hrs/NR and ATPLs attempts. Do you? So they’re either going to get older(30+) people who have always wanted to be pilots but never attempted to. Or those with PPLs but <100 hours. Or those waiting to finish school then go intergrated.

good luck to all of them. I guess us poor people will just continue the hard route. Thanks TUI

flight44 8th Jan 2024 15:00

Advert is now up, I've applied.

jryan29 8th Jan 2024 15:22

Have you received an email for the reasoning tests out of curiosity? I'm still waiting...

aviator86444 8th Jan 2024 16:08

Got above average for numerical reasoning, average on verbal and logical despite them being considerably easier at the time. I got rejected straight away on email, looks like they are requiring above average for all three for a pass?

Digdas 8th Jan 2024 16:44

Anyone applying with an EU passport but not have a 10 year one? As a Portuguese citizen, we cannot get passports valid for longer than 5 years, so I guess that rules me out?

I got 2x Above Average and 1x Average and instantly received a rejection email after finishing the last test... I recall seeing people get through to the video interviews last year with 1x below average... So seems they must have made it tougher this year. Absolutely heart broken. Goodluck to those who make it through

reganl 8th Jan 2024 17:08

Application shows ‘Closed’

Has anyone gone into their profile to review their application? Mine is showing ‘Closed’ and when I click on it there are no contents…

Have not received any email confirmation of application etc like last year?

PPRuNeUser0222 8th Jan 2024 17:11

I'd call them tomorrow to ask. I only hold a Spanish passport (despite having lived in the UK all my life) and I'm going to apply nonetheless. The Portuguese passport is quite strong globally.

Digdas 8th Jan 2024 17:13

I'm in the same boat (having lived in UK my entire life), I've dropped them an email and we will see what they say.

Did you take the practise tests on the website? Were the actual tests the same sort of questions ?

Evolutionary 8th Jan 2024 17:28

Hi guys. I just submitted an application, has anyone else submitted but not gotten an email for the reasoning tests?

jryan29 8th Jan 2024 17:46

I’ve also applied- answered the application questions and got my TUI profile, but no invite to the reasoning tests yet.

Jwa2 8th Jan 2024 18:18

I also got Above average numerical, above average verbal and average logical. Instant rejection email upon completion not even the video interview. I’m quite shocked really with my results I thought I did quite well. Here’s hoping the email was sent out automatically in error lol.

A320R348 8th Jan 2024 18:59

You’ll have five days (starting from the day after you receive this email) to complete all three tests, although we recommend you sit them as soon as possible to give you the best possible chance to progress.
Does this mean they're just going to cut it off after a certain time?? I could do with practicing a bit more..

I applied around 2:30.. the moment I pressed submit it sent me straight through to the SOVA candidate portal with the email coming after. When you complete the About You section the three additional tiles come up for the verbal / logical / numerical

How Disappointing. They look like good scores too. Can I ask, Are you saying they were considerably easier this year than last year?

Toots80 9th Jan 2024 06:51

Yes, I saw this. Absolutely gutted. I am half way through a MATHS GCSE resit as a full time professional with a huge amount of experience and knowledge to bring to the table. And now TUI have moved the goalposts :(

unlucky mate. I got instant chop as well. Where did you get your scores? I couldn’t see any on the email

Nemoclown 9th Jan 2024 08:38

Salary

Anyone else disappointed with the advertised salary? Suppose it sounds ok, maybe even great, if you're young or straight out of school, but for those of us in an established career making say £60k+ it's a bitter pill to swallow. Thinking in six years (course plus the length of time of that salary) I could do modular and end up much better off in that time financially

Cameron239 9th Jan 2024 09:35

Has anyone done the digital interview? I just got through to that stage
