Lauda Europe

Hey,

Anyone has information about the interview process for Lauda? Is it the same as for ryan?

LRC172 24th Aug 2022 23:09

Hey,

I'm going to the assessment for Lauda on the 15th September. I suppose it's similar to the Ryanair one, as it should also include HR interview, Technical interview and the SIM assessment.

What are you going to do on the 15th? HR interview only? When did you apply? I applied the 12th but no response :(

We are going to do an HR/Technical interview and a Sim session. I applied on the 6th of august.

audrey11 25th Aug 2022 07:58

thanks for the update. Good luck!

Are you preparing yourself with pilotassessments.com?

Not really. I prepared for the Online with pilot test dot com, and some atpl refresher reading. For the next interview i am preparing from the ACE techincal book and with some sim sesssion. But i really do not know what to expect from this second one.

Pilot Assessment is a great place to prep for the actual interview as well, it offers HR interview question, technical questions (around 300) and also some other helpful tips and previous feedback from the assessments..
Since you are going as well, do you have any idea if the required references should be by an official person, or can my long time friend just write me one :D, since it states that one of the two can be from a person that has known me for more than 5 years?
Also, what sim session did you book? Do you know perhaps if the one in UPilot center (located right next to Ryanair HQ ) is worth it? I've been hearing that they prep you with the session that looks exactly like the real assessment, regarding the required procedures, briefings, chart readings and reactions to emergencies (PIOSEE/NITS/FORDEC and so on)..

AndrewLincoln 25th Aug 2022 16:44

Guys,
Can I ask you what are your profiles please ?
Applied too, but no answer so far.
Thank you

flyingdaddy 28th Aug 2022 11:17

A short HR+Technical Interview. Very basic technical questions. Read especially Predictive and Reactive Windshear before the interview. Sim also very basic, takeoff - failure- decide to return - go around - eng fail on go around, secure and back to land. Wait 10 days for the response if you passed. If they decide not to hire you, they will never even inform you.

Hey,

Thanks for the feedback. Are you TR or Cadet level?

Hey,

The reference can be a friend who knows you for more than 5 years yes. Just ask him/her to write something about you. I do not know anything about the sim preparations, i heard good things about them so yes i guess they prepare you well.

Other than the pilotassesment.com do you prepare somehow, or is that enough?

Well I am prepping with their HR and tech question databases, and besides that I am studying the briefing pack we have received from Ryanair. I will do some chair flying with the 737 poster, do one sim session on the day before the assessment and brush up on some ATPL q's and I think I'm set. (although the tech interview covers a bunch of ATPL knowledge too).

LRC172 28th Aug 2022 14:29

Do you perhaps wanna exchange contacts so we can keep in touch before the assessment?

audrey11 29th Aug 2022 06:49

On which type of aircraft is the sim test done? A320, B737 or any other MEP sim?

Abra4 & LRC172 any chance to get an update of the process after your assessments?🙏 it’s not clear if one should expect 737 questions or 320. Thanks a lot and good luck to both🤞🍀

Yes, I'm confused on that too. I haven't got a date for Dublin yet, but I presume the questions would be on the A320, even though the sim is 737.

Good luck all.

flyingdaddy 8th Sep 2022 11:34

I am TR. I had the interview and sim in Vienna, everything in A320.

Dublin will be the same.

Hey,

we got a briefing pack which says that the SIM is on a 737-800. As far as i heard on the tech interview they can ask anything and i heard some was asked about 737 so prepare about that too.

ihatemorningflights 13th Sep 2022 08:39

Some info for Lauda TR FOs.

Online assessment has 4 tasks.
Spatial orientation, multitasking, hand eye coordination, and a personal questionnaire.
Good place to practice is pilotassessments.com, the 3 ‘games’ are identical to the ones at the online assessment.

I have not done the sim/technical yet but got the invitation.
For A320 TR FOs the sim will be on A320 in Dublin!

I would be happy to hear what should I expect at sim/technical/hr interview! I will also update here after my assessment.

Abra4 16th Sep 2022 13:23

Hey,

I had the assesment yesterday. I’ll write a quick feedback hope it helps. I am NTR Cadet level.
I won’t go into detail just the important stuff.

so after you are paired with your partner you recieve the charts you will need for the SIM we had Liverpool Bartn1T sid. You can start briefing with your partner, brief the callouts you will need as PF and when do you wanna start to descent slowing down for the ILS etc. Brief everything what you want here because you won’t have time in the sim. While every pair was briefing they started calling in for the technical interview one by one.

HR/Tech interview: Hr part was really straightforward. Just normal questions about you, your work and the where do you see yourself in 5 years and what makes a good captain etc. a few things about ryan/lauda (fleet, bases)
Technical part was quicker for me. The assessor asked me a few questions about my ME aircraft like what kind of engine, which is critical, landing gear etc. you don’t have to answer in 10 sentences, really briefly if he sees you know it he will give you another questions. After this a few other questions about the brake system and after this he asked me about the brakes of the jets. Again very briefly say something. Asked about ApU what does it provide AC/DC how what volage. Other than electricity what does it provides. A few questions about pressurization system. And then 1-2 question about cessna 152. That was it.

Me and my partner were the last ones in the sim so we waited like 3-4 hours. It was really quick. Fly the SID steep turns. Emergency DoDAR land back vectores to ILS and that is it. They don’t expect you to fly withing 50ft but have a good communicatiln with your prtner and help each other.

that was it. I got the positive answer a day later so today.

good luck everyone.

HUD96758 16th Sep 2022 16:13

That's amazing news! Congratulations!
Also thank you for the feedback.

A couple quick questions.
1. I'm guessing based on your feedback that the technical questions never went in to specifics about the A320 or 737?
2. Were they Lauda assessors or Ryanair? You said they asked abit about both Lauda and Ryanair, I'm guessing they werem't very in depth.

All the best and good luck at Lauda.

Jalons 16th Sep 2022 21:03

Congratulations!!! Thank you for providing the feedback it really helps. Good luck at Lauda!

audrey11 17th Sep 2022 09:11

Congrats and thanks for the detailed feedback!

The assessor always asked me about “jets” in general, so not type specific. But others had questions like what is the difference between airbus and boeing or Boeing hydraulic system. Not in detail but be able to talk a few sentences about them. On the Hr part i got questions about 737 NG vs Max just like seating and engines so it was pretty basic. Just makes sure you have a brief knowledge about the differences.

I think they were ryanair assesors and no not in depth just what you can find on their website.

Hello there. Just for information someone is still waiting for the SIM assesment date? I received a positive answer after the cut-e in August But haven’t received a date yet.

Jetliner737 20th Sep 2022 11:03

Lauda Cadet Pilots

Hi there. I passed the online assessment roughly 1 month ago... I'm still wondering when will they send an invitation to Dublin.

HUD96758 20th Sep 2022 13:49

I'm in a similar situation. I completed the CUT-E over 3 weeks ago. Just a waiting game...

ihatemorningflights 24th Sep 2022 10:56

Hey,

I had the assessment yesterday. I am A320 TR FO. This day all of us were TR, so I think what we had is more likely to apply for TR guys.

We had a bit different schedule then normally, we started with the SIM. I was paired with a TR captain.

SIM:
Very basic stuff with minor faults and with mandatory items.
Starting in DUB RWY 28L LIFFY7A SID. Normal takeoff with automation. After takeoff fwd cargo door open with pressurization problem confirmed. Ecam, dodar, nits, decision to go back. Weather is OVC 1000 VIS 5km. ILS out so only VOR approach for 28L. Briefing. Before the approach AP off, ATHR off, but we could have FDs. At MDH no visual, go around. During GA engine fail. Again ecam, dodar, nits. ILS is working again so ILS 28L. Weather the same. Before approach AP off but ATHR ON, FDs on, one engine landing uneventful. End of SIM.

HR:
Very basic question, as written here before many time. You history with aviation. Why Lauda? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Notice period?

TECHNICAL:
It was more related to the SIM what we had. Cargo smoke/fire system. Green hydraulic system and ita fault. Some random question on the cockpit mockup picture. I think for TR guys they can ask anything but they want to see only overall knowledge they will not go into details. If you know every system what it is and what for and you can say 2 sentences about it you should be fine.

That was it for me. Assessment was Friday, I got the positive answer on Monday. Good luck!

Hi all,

Is anyone still waiting for a date for their assessment in Dublin?

It's been 7 weeks since I passed the online assessments and was told I'm in a holding pool.

Thanks.
