Cockpitweb PILAPT software

Having trouble with two sections and wondering if anybody can shed some light.

1) Number series: Any tips on a good method of solving this. The instructions are not clear to me?

2) Colours (colors): Is it possible to get your mouse pointer to the correct colour before recording a miss. Im finding no probs with the right cursor but can only hit a colour if I happen to be pointing at it?

Thanks in advance for any tips and of course apologies in advance if Ive simply missed something......

If I remember correctly a number series is read over your headphones. You are told the starting number and the starting count. Every time the sequence changes you must recognise the change by firing the joystick. This is a little tricky but there is enough time to count down on your fingers before the next number is read out!

Thanks for the info. That one is not a problem, its the one titled 'Num. Series' in the software.

I assume you are doing for in preparation for an assessment day ? Which FTO are you going to ?

Getting hung up on specific tests is a waste of time. Plus I don't recall seeing either of these included in any of the major FTO selections (CTC/FTE/Oxford), nor the RAF ones at Cranwell.

The only practice tests I really found worthwhile were the shapes & numbers combined one, as CTC use something similar, and the crosshair thing just to sharpen up your eye hand.

Other than that just try to relax and get a good nights sleep.

Ok, cheers. Im not up for assessment, happily employed. Just been given the software and curious as to how these two sections work. Instructions may be clear to some but sadly not to me.

I'm up for the assessment day hopefully. Provided I pass paper sift.

I'm glad this thread has popped up to be honest. I've been looking at the PILAPT section of the test via the pilotest website.

Does anyone know from experience how many sections CTC use?

On the pilotest website, there are quite a few to choose from so would be handy to know what kind of tests to revise for...

All the information you could need is on the CTC Wings Thread, I remember trawling through it prior to attending a few years ago.

In fact on the first page there is this;

Ollie23 - Ok thanks, I'll take a look at that thread :)

FYI it seems that the PILAPT preparation at Pilotest has moved to https://www.pilotest.net
