easyjet trss open day?
 
Was looking on the flight international site earlier, there was an advert for a open day next week to do with the TRSS.

What happens at these things?

Any info would be helpful.

I ve been in touch with one of my Easy contacts.

This is the spec.

The SPTR Scheme is aimed at 500+ T/prop commercial hours pilots.

They are not taking on low hour fATPL pilots, period, under this scheme.

Theres only one way in," novice pilot " cadetship for the under 25s.

She also tells me of numerous fATPL folk working thoughtout the company "pulling their hair out trying to get a chance." No one has suceeded this way.

Its the CTC cartel or nothing.

I've been to all the previous roadshows chated at length with Joyce and Andy.

The message hasnt change from then or the BALPA conferences of the last 3 years.

Easyjet dont take Low Hours pilots.

Bum. Bum. Bum. and more Bum.

they take plenty of foreign low hour pilots though - through the atp scheme - would be very interesting to see the stats.

Hmmmmm....... you say 500hrs+ turboprop or equivilant?

There website just says 500 hours.

Ive got 700 hours, of which 280 are multi.

Think its worth going? Bearing in mind its a pain in the rear end to get there.

If you pass their assessment they give you a firm job offer and help raise the money for the rating... I don't know you but I bet that is the best offer you have had in a long time (no offence to your wife/girlfriend;) )

If I had 500 hrs I would be there in a shot.

TYPE RATED SPONSORSHIP SCHEME

We would like to thanks all the candidates who have replied to our
November Newsletter regarding the launch of our new Type Rated
Sponsorship scheme (TRSS).

The scheme was of interest to a large number of pilots and due to
the high number of response we have decided to change our minimum
requirements, therefore we will now consider candidates for the TRSS
scheme with 500 hours+. Furthermore we will be giving priority to
candidates who have multi crew experience in a European transport
company.

If you are interested in applying to that scheme, please fill out
our online application and states in the reason why you want to join
easyJet that you are applying for that scheme. Please do not send
any CVs as the only way to apply is through our web site.


2003 RECRUITMENT

We have already started recruiting for 2003 and this year we will
only be taking a limited number of pilots through our Direct Entry
Scheme therefore, most positions available next year will be for
Type Rating Sponsorship Pilots and B737 type rated pilots.

Our requirement for Direct Entry Captains is still limited. We are
still expecting to fill the majority of the LHS positions through
internal promotions (our policy is to promote from within whenever
possible). This may of course change according to business needs.

May I remind you not to respond to this email asking for individual
requests or feedback, as our policy is not to respond to individual
requests.

Joyce Linehan has now moved to a new position with easyJet, so
please do not try to contact her regarding pilot recruitment as she
wouldn't be able to help regarding your application.


THE ROADSHOWS ARE BACK!

We will have 2 general roadshows about our pilot recruitment and the

Any age limit?
 
I have more than 4000 hours and 2000H+ of multicrew turboprop...

But I´m 30 years old also... So, I´m thinking to go to Heathrow to the TRSS. Anyone knows if there is any age limit on this scheme?

The original question was, what happens at these roadshows.

I am considering going on the 2nd of April, but it is going to cost me a few hundred pounds. I do not want further information than I have, I want an invitation for an interview.

Is going to a roadshow a way of inviting yourself to an interview?

Has anyone been invited to an interview after attending a roadshow (and because of that)?

I've been to a couple of these road-shows.

In a nutshell, what happens is the easyJet recruitment department give a presentation telling you what sort of person they are looking for, and what a wonderful company easyJet is to work for if you're that sort of person.

After that you fill in a questionnaire about what you thought of the presentation and get to chat to a couple of line pilots over tea/coffee & biscuits.

IMHO not worth going to if you haven't got the minimum requirements for a job at easyJet, and definitely not worth going if you've not applied to them on-line.

Don't bother to take a paper CV, these will go straight in the bin, and they tell you that!

If you do have the minimum requirements it doesn't necessary help to go to the road-show, but they'll have a look at your questionnaire, and sometimes then they'll review your on-line application on the strength of it.

The decision is yours.

I do fulfill the requirements.

I have been registered via online application, and I have been so for I guess some years now, updating now and then.

I just wonder how much time I really need, or am I too old for them?

I have JAR ATPL, 2400 hours total, 400 corporate jet, 1000 turbine, enough of IFR, PIC and multi time, 31 years old.


What seems to be the reason they do not ask me in then? I was wondering if it was the fact that I haven't been to a roadshow yet, but I guess not.

The impression that I get is that their recruitment is a bit disorganised. They claim to have 9000 pilots on the database, so ask yourself why do they need road shows.

I know of someone who got a phone call without even applying online!

Your experience is in their "we're interested" area. Age is not a factor.

I'd submit your application again, checking it very carefully for typos and the like. If you can afford the trip, go for it. The double whammy might be just what you need. Be sure that you're "orange" though. If you're not, you won't fit in.

BTW I don't work for them (even thought I'd like the chance), but I know how they think!

Don't expect a lot, but it may be the best "few hundred pounds" you'll spend.

Didn't have the chance to get down to Heathrow todat but I would be interested to see if anyone made any progress or was it just the usual case of easyjet blowing thier trumpet?

I wish they'd reply to my online application, just once!!:D

The cookies were excellent! Still moist in the middle, with just the right amount of chocolate chips.

From what I gather it was the usual stuff. Seemed to be a mixed bunch of people there, from 250hrs people upwards.

And I think it was interesting. Specially meet the guys for other countries coming at Heathrow. The situation is the same in all Europe.

For the "Roadshow" it was a meeting were the recruitment people of easyJet explains the TRSS scheme. The best news were the 200 new pilots they need to hire on this year...

Now I wish to be contacted by easyJet to the 48H selection process.

12,000! Take away the multiple applications, PPL's, and muppets who think that if they spend £50K they will walk right in with 250hrs and a realistic number is aound a few thousand.

Good point. At the presentation that I went to, the presenter was given a really hard time by the 250 hour brigade. The answer was reinforced time and time again, if you don't have 500 hours, don't apply as they are not interested. Took several iterations of that message before it started to seep in. Makes you wonder.

The only way into the big O with less than 500 TT is via the CTC scheme.

i opted out at the last minute as it would be a waste of my time but i do have one question if someone could possibly answer please;

i am just about to finish a 737/300 - 800 rating would they take on a zero hour guy? in truth only half my training is completed really as i have no line training etc. See my point? let me hear your views
