Is there still a ‘best’ time to qualify / apply for jobs?
I am currently going through the modular route. Having passed my theoretical exams and nearly finished my hour building I am planning the next stage of my training (CPL/ME/IR/MCC).
I keep an eye on PPRUNE and realise that very few ‘low time hours’ pilots are getting jobs at the moment. However, those that have managed to secure jobs seem to be evenly spread over the last six months with no real ‘peek period’ for recruitment. I have done a search on the topic. In the past people used to talk about October and January/February as being the peek time for recruitment (presumably for charter companies to get crew in for the winter and summer seasons). With the likes of Easyjet, Ryanair and Flybe becoming the major players in recruitment am I correct in thinking that there is no longer an optimum time to complete training?
Thanks in advance for any information.
