Aer Lingus Info

Just wondering if anybody knows how the infamous cadets are doing, have they been hired yet?
Or has anyone heard of any rumours of any future recruitment or the likes

Try the Irish Aviation Bulletin Board (under Irish Airlines) - current topic running.

Flying counsel,

The cadets are doing fine thanks. I am one of them, or should i say, was one of them.

Some have managed to get jobs with various airlines, some have completed the course at CTC, and many are still actively searching for work.

No real news from Aer Lingus as to whether we will ever be taken back, there's always hope i guess. Things are looking a lot better for EI these days.

We shall still look elsewhere, we have no contractual ties to Aer Lingus, a fact that many airlines who we are applying to do not know. But it would be nice to go back!

Anyway, that's a brief history. Time has flown by since finishing flying training in March 02. Managed to keep everything current though. Get to fly a bit through work, which is nice, but no luck job hunting as yet.

Fingers crossed for the future though!!

Another ex-cadet here.
All the cadets in my class have airline jobs.

Know of a quite a few low timers getting hired in the last few months so things definitely looking better.

Someone has put a (fairly) accurate post about who has gotten jobs on the Irishaviation.net site.

Another here - half the guys in my class have jobs and more on the way soon. I went the CTC route and all worked out nicely. Spoke to a 146 capt in EDI last week and he said that it's going to be quite a while before AL are hiring again. Still quite a few guys on unpaid leave to come back and with the 146 being taken out of service in October that's another bunch of guys that they'll have to find seats for.
