Jet2 Future Second Officer Programme queries

Hi,

I am trying to gather as much information as possible about the process involved in the Jet2 Future Second Officer programme.

Let’s say someone is successful with their application and is offered a job as a Future Second Officer…what’s involved thereafter?
  • the 6 week induction phase (which I believe was 20 weeks but for this year appears to be 6 weeks instead)? How is the 6 weeks broken down? And where is this time spent, eg: Leeds or some other location(s)?
  • type rating - how is this broken down, ie: how long does ground school, sim time and base training take? And what locations are the ground school and sim sessions done?
  • after type rating, presumably it’s working on a rostered basis from your home base and working up to Second Officer, First Officer and beyond?
Essentially I’m trying to work out the extended periods of time one would need to be away from home once starting the programme.

Thanks in advance

The webinar they did answered some of these - the 6 weeks seems to be broken down into short segments of exposure within various different departments, including exposure to cabin crew training (rather than full training and working as cabin crew like the original programme). They didn't give any information on the type rating programme in terms of how long it lasts - they did say it would be at either Leeds or Manchester though. They did say they provide the accommodation throughout the 6 week programme in Leeds though. Depending on where you get based, this will determine your location thereafter!

Thanks, that’s helpful. I’m based in the north west so I’m trying to work out how much time I’d be away from home during the initial phase….based on what you’ve said, if it’s mostly in Leeds or Manchester that would work well for me.

(obviously if my base thereafter was elsewhere then I’d be away from home/moving house anyway!)

Has anyone else applied for this program? If so have you heard anything back? I applied at the end of last month and have had no communication with Jet2 yet about my application, on my account it still says ‘under review‘.

I applied when this opened last month - got asked to do the online Aon tests which had to be completed by 3rd March - all completed on time but not heard anything since then and my application just says under review - not sure if anyone else has heard since the tests??

hi Guys
I have the same situation with Jet2. A lot of us have done online assessment and didn't hear from the recruitment team.
who knows why? Maybe the conflict in the Middle East might slow things down

In the same boat. I applied 20-Feb and my application still says 'under review'. Not had any contact since but suspect they have been busy with the flightpath applications. I do know that some people received rejections very soon after submission so I'm taking it that no news is good news in this case.

Good to see I'm not the only one in this waiting game. Same as you all, completed the online assessments and nothing since. Guess it's somewhat good news that no one else has heard anything. Agree with Bermuda, hopefully its just the J2FP scheme that's causing a bit of a wait

Those that have completed the AON online assessment, what was included in them? Just had the invite email today to complete by Sunday…

Have a look at pilotassessments, they've got all the tests on there but it's basically what the email says; reaction test, multitasking, hand-eye, speech comprehension & then personality test

Just got an email stating expect to hear an update by the end of next week. Fingers crossed

I think it is the same/similar to the Jet2 FlightPath. We received emails to complete Aon test yesterday morning and are required to complete by for Monday - maybe this contributes to your delay. We also must complete a Motivational Assessment on HireVue but I think you are not required to do this?

For information, PilotAptitudeTest has the Aon 'Work-Related Behaviour' test in a simulator and 'English Language Comprehension' which is not available on PilotAssessments.

Hi, looks like some movement last week. Received my AON assessment to complete. Did those waiting for AON results and next steps hear back last week as well? Trying to gauge the timeline. Many thanks !

Just completed the online AON tests, how did everyone find them? My deadline was to get them done by today (Sunday) hopefully won't have to wait long to hear back but I'm guessing the recruitment team have got lots of applications to get through at the moment especially with the Jet2FlightPath scheme.

I completed the online AON assessment and can confirm, tests are EXACTLY the same as on pilotassessments.com

Hi Guys, same here, completed the Aon assessments for the Jet2 future second officer programme and got an invite for the Digital interview on HireVue. Has anyone already done this? If so, do you know if the questions were similar to the ones on Pilotassessments?

yes. I heard about 6 days after completing the AON tests. Asked to do Hirevue. Heard 6 days after that. I’ve done the teams interview early last week and now waiting.
