Jet hours for international hiring

A320 First officer here. What is a good amount of flight hours on jet that is just right to be hired to international airlines globally. Fully aware that the more experience/hours you have, obviously the better. However, i am trying to find the right balance between minimum hours required to be marketable and the right amount of hours that would be worth it to give up my seniority/staff number and opportunity for captaincy in my current airline instead.

1500h? 2000h? 2500h? 3000h? etc.

Should i just get my 1500h and start applying for better opportunities or would 3000h make me a stronger candidate. All factors being equal.
