Is there a payscale available anywhere? Pilotjobsnetwork shows FO starting salary but doesn't give information about how much it goes up each year, which is one of the big advantages over the low cost guys.

How much is a yr 1 FO taking home compared to say a yr 3 fo?

From the figures they put up at the presentation on Friday the take home was in the mid 40s for the basic pay + sector pay then on top, 21% pension contribution

I got invited to the assessment day on the 25th today. In the confirmation email it says successful candidates might be invited to a simulator session on the following day or at a later date. Just wondering if people have actually been invited next day? I need to organize time off work and flights to Dublin. Don't know if I should book next day or not.

Assessment day week starting 25th February

Good evening all!

Ive just had a voicemail about an invite to an assessment day during the week of the 25th February, unfortunately Im rostered to fly Monday - Friday and obviously I doubt I can get a leave day on such short notice, does anyone know if they run assessments on the weekend as well? Or if theyd be able to offer a later assessment week? Has anyone else had availability issues and been able to make things work? Many thanks all!

Are you counting video interview as first step? If so, I've been invited to second stage with no commercial experience.

Assessments are only Monday to Friday and run from 0830 to 1700.

Sim

Do you think it is advisable to book a sim session on an A320 before going to the assessment? Do they expect you to have done this?
I have only ever flown a Boeing in the sim. I was wondering how easy it will be to adapt.

Is it true that you can't really change the speed using the thrust levers like in a Boeing? And that you have to use the speed window and pitch to do so instead?

Thanks

If I had an assessment on the Airbus I would book a sim session. The systems onboard compensate for secondary effects and at first, you might overcontrol.
And that is not true. You can control thrust manually with the thrust levers out of the detent.

Your assessment may not be in the airbus sim. Its possible to be in a generic jet sim. Will depends on sim availability.

Either way, Id always advocate having a practice run before any sim assessment
