Math Aptitude Testing (CTC/L3)
Hi all,
I need some insight into the math testing during the pilotaptitude tests, specifically how CTC (now L3 I think) test.
Practicing online I have found differences in the answerstyles on different websites. These differentstyles require very different approaches to the questions.
Let me give an example:
1280 X 97 Nowthe answer to this is 124,160.
On PilotAptitudeTest.com the four possible answers tend to looklike this:
a) 110,000
b) 150,000
c) 124,000
d) 200,000
Answers like this mean that you can simplify the question to1280 X100 in your head and get the answer correct.
On FlightDeckFriend.com the answers tend to look like this:
a) 124,100
b) 124,150
c) 124,160
d) 124,170
Answers like this force you to fully work out the answer onpaper to get it right, much more time consuming and also a very different skill.
If anyone who has sat the CTC assessment tests could let meknow what style the questions are in I would be eternally grateful.

L3 aren't out to trick you, more out to see your speed and accuracy. The questions tend to use rounded numbers and with the correctly applied technique can be worked out without needing to calculate the entire sum. The options given to you are usually far enough apart that the correct answer stands out.
To be fair, even the second set of answers allow you to easily work out which answer is right without doing anything too tedious.

8x7? 56
Stick on the zero, 560.
Voila, answer must end in a 60, question answered.
Try not to get too intimidated by the big numbers, there is always a simpler way. Focus on your methods rather than practicing actual numbers and you can't go far wrong, whatever format the questions take.

CTC/ L3 Airline Training Maths Test
Hello, everyone!
I'd like to know what can I expect from L3's/CTC's maths test? Is there any revision or books or sites for the test? I'm bad at solving maths problems/maths words, I mean just imagine, there are conversion questions and it wants me to convert from Dollars to Pounds, I have no Idea where to start and How can I answer them?
I'd like to get full pass mark to get short-listed for IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program.
most of people are saying subscribe to pilotaptitudetest.com questions but I did the assessment with CTC once 2 years ago, but honestly, CTC was really easier than pilotaptitudetest.com.
and I read some mental maths/ quick calculations books, however, the methods takes more time than I do them in the paper!
