Question Looking for the advice...757/767 vs 320

Good day to everybody! Hope you are all doing good. I'm 22yo FO on the 757/767 and company I work for is in the transition to the Airbus fleet. I have logged something about a thousand hours on 757/767, the minimum upgrade logged time is 3500 hours in my company. So, I've got an offer to change to the Airbus fleet, as 757 will be gradually replaced by 321LR and we will be left with 3 767. But I don't really want it because I will be on the bond for a five years and, well, I don't quite like Airbus (just personal preference, I like to control airplane ultimately, not to start a holywar). But, it's life and we don't get everything we want, right? So, what would you advice me, gentlemen?
Thanks in advance!

If I were you, I'd go for the change. You might be bonded but remember, an employer cannot stop you from moving on and despite what a contract might say, you wouldn't have to repay all in one go if you did leave....you can agree a repayment plan and it'd only be a proportion of the type rating, not the full amount. PM me.

I understand your point of view, always liked the 757/767 combi. Best package flyingwise ever.

Unfortunately both types are dead, the 320, together with the 737, is the place to be for the future.
Flying wise I prefer any boeing over any airbus because I do not like Airbus by myself. But I would strongly suggest to get that 320 Typerating, it is worth gold.

The amount of nonsense spouted about the Airbus on these fora is something to behold. I have never felt remotely "not in control" in 5000+ hours flying the Airbus.

Everybody I have ever met who has flown both the 75/6 and the Airbus says the same thing: the Airbus is the far nicer aircraft to operate day in day out, with the Boeing's advantage being on very gusty days.

I turned down a 75/6 type rating a few years ago, because I thought (correctly) that the Airbus rating would be more useful to have current on my licence.

He's only 22, and already miles ahead in his career compared to most older wannabes (myself included), give him a break :P

In the end it is still an airplane. Do you make barrel rolls (google barrel roll) with a Boeing or any other aerobatic manouvres?

So the argument of "real flying" as some Boeing flyers like to say is not really valid.
Rent a Extra 300 or an open cockpit Tiger Moth for real flying.

The Airbus is still an airplane. Push the stick forward and guess what happens? The Airbus has a protection envelope around the airplane that helps you in case of aircraft upsets outside of the normal operation. That's not where you will be flying in your 7657 or any other airliner passenger aircraft anyway.

Be open minded during a type rating course. Do not compare it to your old airplane. Study and you will be fine in your next Jet job. You still can use your experience, skills and talents on the Bus.

Good luck

Thank you guys for your answers. I think I'll hang on on a Boeing till it 757 gets completely replaced so I wouldn't have a choice. I really did not want to insult anyone of the Airbus flyers, excuse me if I did. I understand the advantage of being type rated on the Airbus, but I'm still not quite confident with the airplane. Anticipating tendencies and correcting them before an actual deviation occurs, thrust management, flying trough a flight director, descent planning in a way airplane descends idle till G/S capture... All of these is still to go for me. And I think it's easier to get on a more basic aeroplane.
