Maths & English tests

There's a possibility I may be going for a cadet scheme recruitment day in the near future. I want to sharpen my maths and English skills before I go so I can ace the test! Has anybody been through any of these tests before and if so, what's the best way to prepare? Can you recommend any books, online courses or apps or are there any other avenues I can explore?

You can get plenty of mental math apps for your smartphone as well. They all work wonders. You just have to put in a lot of time.

The SHL sample papers are a good place to start as quite a few employers use SHL.
