West Atlantic Cadet Scheme 2014
Hi all,
I can't believe this hasn't been posted here yet (the scheme's been open for about ten days), and only four days left to apply, so get your applications in!
Link to West Atlantic's Recruitment page (application forms at the bottom, with min / desirable requirements):
United Kingdom | West Atlantic
Also a link to their facebook page (where you can ask them questions you may have about the scheme, etc):
https://www.facebook.com/WACadetSchemeUK?fref=ts
Annoyingly, I don't have a full driving licence, though may apply anyway (no harm trying).
Good luck to anyone who applies!

I've heard of people making it through previous recruitment rounds with ATPL subjects already completed. Admittedly, it is a small window between being qualified at PPL level (with night rating, etc - the perfect candidate), but then becoming "over" qualified when you start the rest of the training.
Ach, hopefully a few people will be able to apply!

They have been known to invite candidates to assessments who have a full set of ATPLs and 100 hours p1. Just as long as the candidate has not yet carried otu their CPL/IR training

Automatic reply
hi, did anyone of you who applied received this as a reply?
"Thank you for you email and interest in the West Atlantic Cadet Scheme UK
The closing date for Applications is Friday 4th July 2014, any applications submitted after this time will be automatically deleted."
Is that a common reply for everyone?

Eligio welcome into the tough aviation world. Don't expect to receive any response even though you may comply with all the requirements. I have applied myself the last year and no response received neither. My advice is to just forget it and move on. There are many other cadetships out there which you can apply to and they will at least give you the chance to show off your qualities during the initial assessment. Best luck to everyone.

I received a rejection email
Apparently I don't have enough DRIVING experience! Having only passed my test in March. They did however say that they enjoyed reading my application and requested that I apply again in future.
Although pretty gutted I'm very glad they did give me feedback as I thought they were only contacting successful candidates.
I've been waiting for this scheme for a while, I guess I can wait a little longer.
Best of luck to all those who got through initial selection.

I am very pleased to say I got a positive reply.
I have a PPL, Night, IMC, 165 hours (105 P1).
Is anyone on here going on the 22nd July to the Assessment day? Please feel free to PM me, would be good to talk and put a face to a name.
