Exclamation Air Linkers low hours pilot jobs

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have been offered a job with Air Linkers (AIRLINKERS LLC | Aircraft Lease / Parts and Sales)
Its flying their Boeing 737-500 series, Based out of South Korea and the surrounding areas (hopefully not North Korea!!)

However, I have never heard of the company, and have noticed the odd thread on PPRUNE from a while back.

Basically they have sent me the job contract to sign and send back before paying them half of the type rating costs. $34,500 total cost for type with accommodation and boarding for 1 year.

Has anyone/or known anyone to work for Air Linkers?

Is it all above board?!

I hope someone can shed some light on this....

Send me $9000 and I'll tell you all about it for $1000 cheaper than what Wodka is offering.

Stay away you say!?

Do you know this from experience, or know of someone who has?

I'm curious as to whether there is a job at the end of it...

You are willing to pay £23.000 for a 737 CL rating?

I think if you search 1 minute on google : air linkers pprune - you should find all the answers you are seeking!

The fact that they use a screenshot from a flight simulator game on their main page should tell you enough about the company...

any lower bids ey?! haha

I can see your point though. Does look suspect.

I've tried finding employees on LinkedIn too to no avail.

There must be someone out there who knows the full story, scam or no scam!!

Why don't you go and find out, and let us know!

I mean, some people really need to have it knocked in hard by wood, if somebody was dumb enough to do it, they would probably be to ashamed to come on here and admit it, and most likely suffered a mental break down at the same time, when they have discovered how dumb they have been!

No wonder such scams probably do work, on some! Than again those Nigeria scams, that also look so obvious, still make money on peoples stupidity, I guess this is no different!

truckflyer

haha im not falling into that trap of paying them!

Turns out their offices are for sale and are derelict!
Doesn't sound like any airline I've ever heard of!?

I'd be interested to see how many other people have applied for the job, and been offered it, after only a phone call chat and 'tech interview' on Skype! I thought it was mean't to be difficult to get a job these days for us low hours guys. Alarm bells started ringing immediately, I just didn't know if it was legit or not.

Also....cheers for the help guys!

Can any low hours guy afford to lose $35,000?!

I cant!!

I'd rather join a pay-to-fly scheme to get my foot in the door.

What is the aviation industry coming to ey......

I rang the guy who runs it last year (the phone number given on the advert was wrong and the person who answered actually gave the right number). He wanted 10k by wire transfer then he would send me a contract. I told him I would like to come and see him in person before I gave him any money. He said even if I did fly to India he wouldn't be able to see me as he is very busy.

He also sent me an insulting email after I told him I wouldn't send any money to someone who didn't seem above board.

Even if it is real the guy running it doesn't deserve your money.

Hey pilotchute,

Ive got a copy of B S Das' number that goes through to him if you would like it!! haha.

He told me in an email that 'i seem to have all the credentials required so we don't need to see you for interview'.......all I had was a one hour skype chat!!!!!!!!! which included a technical interview which included the following questions...

-Cost of a barrel of crude oil
-Explain TCAS
-What is the first aircraft I flew
-What engine did it have
-What is a PAPI/light colours

They did send me a contract without paying cash upfront though. Considering they're based in India, the contract is in US law. It also doesn't look like its been written by a lawyer.

Hey Tom,

He wanted 40k off me for the 737-200! He said he could do the 727 for a bit less. How generous of him.

You can get a 73 classic rating in the US for about 7k so I would do that and then call places in Africa and offer them 20k for the chance to sit in the RHS of one of their 737's for a year and I sure you would get more than a couple of offers.

I'm not suggesting anyone actually does what I just suggested but that way at least you have some control.

Cheers Flying Mechanic

Shame to hear someone has been ripped off by this merchant, but hopefully this thread will stop any more people getting ripped off.

Did they pay for the type course and find nothing came of it then?

Pilotchute - I bet many places would be happy to accept you if you offered them 20 grand in Africa. Much less risky, and I bet it would be fun!

I've had the contract looked at by a lawyer, and he said stay away from that, its not even been written by a real lawyer!....

Nuff said...
