I might be being a bit cynical but I am surprised that no one else has mentioned being contacted by Jet2.

I assume quite a few people will be attending the assessment day on Tuesday yet no one else has posted anything.

It does make me query the validity of Pie13's claims.

It is negativity like that my dear castlethorpe which is probably why you haven't been called for assessment yet 2 other people have PM me saying they have the assessment on the same day, no need to belittle someone else because you haven't been selected yet.

Sincere apologies pie13 I didn't mean to belittle you.

I just thought it was rather odd no one else had commented.

Where's your assessment and any mention of compass testing?

Pilot Apprentice

Best of luck to you Pie_13, you are correct, the interviews take place on Tuesday and the Sim Assessments are taking place on Wednesday next week at the Brand New Jet2 Sim Centre in Bradford.

Good luck to all candidates

Pilot Apprentice

Are Tuesday and Wednesday the only days they are going to do then?

Are you suggesting if you pass the assessment on Tuesday you get called back the following day.

Seems like very short notice for people who need to get time off other jobs etc.

All seems odd to me. I remember everyone moaning last time as they had to do lots of odd computer tests and a group exercise. Has all that been scrapped?

The format is a 2 day selection process. The first day of selection tests followed by a Sim Assessment the following day.

From recollection, Day 1 comprises a range of computer based tests (Compass, Maths, Tech), a Group Exercise and an Interview.

Day 2 is in the Sim in either the 737-300, 737-800 or 757-200 (whichever is available) for those who are successful on Day 1. You will be given a profile in advance.

I don't know whether the assessments next week are the only assessments they plan to do or whether they will run some more. I suspect the latter based on the numbers they are looking for, but I don't know for sure.

Out of interest, is there a maximum hours limit? I'm thinking that flight instructors and/or some turboprop pilots might still be interested in applying?

I don't know of any upper hours limit, there are certainly one or two currently on the scheme with a reasonable amount of experience.

Still would like to know if any successful candidates this time round or previously had addresses south of the Watford Gap on their application form.

@Flying Apprentice,

They don't pick people based on location.

There are quite a few 'Northerners' and the same for 'Southerners'.

(I would say more balance towards Yorkshire folk, maybe because a lot of people apply internally and are from the area).

Hurrah I may have a chance then despite being a newby to the north.

Is anyone going to share their experience of the recent selection days?

There is another selection day taking place today with Sim checks for those who are successful tomorrow. The scheme is ongoing in the sense that Jet2 will recruit a few times in the year so I assume your application may we be carried over if you aren't on today's selection.
