Jetstar Asia Cadetship Programme (Singapore)
Hi guys, I know there are a few threads out there about Jetstar's cadetship, and how money-sucking and slave-like it is. I dunno how it compares here in Singapore cos the cadetship scheme was just started this year in march and there seems to be a lack of information floating around.
Wanna find out more about the programme from any Singaporean who have gone thru it. Cos there seems like there's a fair bit of difference between the aussie cadetship scheme and the s'pore one; notably the lack of funding help from FEE-HELP as well as the pay after completing the course. Assuming that the cost of training by CTC is about SGD$185000, how does one go about paying that? I take it J* will loan a significant sum at the start and deduct from the salary throughout the bond period (5 years I read somewhere, not 6). Does anyone have a more precise figure how much we are expected to cough up by ourselves at the start?
Also, Oxford's training is 18 mths but more expensive while CTC's is 20 mths but slighty cheaper. Is there any significant difference between taking either provider? And does anyone have any rough idea what the pay of a bonded pilot will be like here in s'pore? I heard s'pore pilots get paid less than those in aus?
Thanks alot for your help!
