Taking the DLR for 2 different airlines?
Hi everyone,
Not sure if anyone will have a definitive answer to this one but will ask it anyway!
I recently undertook (and sadly like many others failed to pass) the DLR test for Lufthansa Italia.
My question is does this preclude you from taking the DLR for other airlines? I may have the opportunity to do the test again for another operator in the near future, but didn't know if my previous sitting for Lufthansa would prevent it? (at the time when I submitted my application to the other operator I had not even been invited to the Lufthansa assessment).

I'm afraid not, but it really depends on the operator.
Failing any phase of the selection for any Lufthansa affiliate, means you can't apply with a Lufthansa company anymore for the rest of your life. When I called LHI Recruitment they told me this meant only LH pax, cargo, Italia, Cityline and Germanwings. But when I tried to apply with OS, they told me this also wasn't possible anymore. So maybe LX, SN, BD, SK, DE and IQ are also out of the question.
I know, it sucks. Those who haven't gone thru selection yet, take care to prepare!

My German colleagues tell me quite clearly that you only get ONE shot at the DLR test, no matter which airlines you may be applying to at the time or at a later date.
Thus I fear it is too late for you but the advice they have for others is to make sure you are properly prepared for it in advance, and if necessary do not be shy about delaying the test date if preparations are not complete as your chance with many of their national airlines will depend on it.

It is not quite that easy. You have one shot before beginning your flight training for all of Lufthansa except Swiss and one as a ready entry. However depending on the test-stage you fail and depending on company outside of the lufthansa imperium you might be able to retake it for other companies. I took it 4 or 5 times now and passed all except my abinitio shot (still did my training at LFT though, just not for Lufthansa).

I passed the DLR and Sim screening quite a while ago, but failed the final interview with LH. I was told they were happy with my flying skills and technical knowledge but I do not match the company profile. Now I was told I can not apply anymore with OS, who is currently recruiting. I was told by the recruitment secretary it always used to be like that even when OS did not belong to Lufthansa. Isn't it illegal to do something like that? Think about it they used to be 2 completely different companies not even from the same country wtf?

For some companıes they wıll let you try DLR agaın after 12 months. If you faıl DLR wıth one company, you effectıvely faıl wıth all DLR companıes untıl the tıme frame for re take ıs past. As mentıoned, some do not allow a re take

A failed DLR test for one of the Lufthansa companies means you are still eligible to take the DLR test again for Condor/Condor Berlin.
You do not have the take the complete test again though. The so called 'GU' and the 'Simulator Screening' will be, when successfully completed, accepted by Condor/Condor Berlin. A positive 'GU' will also be accepted by other small Lufthansa companies like Augsburg Airways and Contact Air.
So it all comes down on passing the 'GU' as otherwise one will not be able to apply with a lot of airlines.
However, if you take the DLR test for Condor/Condor Berlin first and you fail, you will not be able to take the DLR test again for any of the Lufthansa companies.
So that give you two shorts for Condor/Condor Berlin considering that you try with Lufthansa first. If you fail twice, you are out of the game.
Best way to find out for sure is to call the airline.
No chance in hiding a failed DLR testing as you always sign papers, that they are allowed to look up your file and the DLR keeps the records.
