For anyone currently waiting on a response from these guys- this came today.

Dear,

We have well received your application for the position of Ab Initio Pilots Non-Typerated on B737 NG.

Your candidature shows a number of valuable skills and is certainly interesting for our company. At this moment, however, we will not continue with your application since you were not our final choice to fill this particular job vacancy.

Nevertheless, your profile could be suitable for other job openings that may possibly open up in the future. Therefore, we recommend you to enter our website and note your interests at the link ‘job agent’. Afterwards you will automatically be contacted by mail as soon as an appropriate position corresponding with your interests becomes available in our company.

We thank you for your confidence in our company.

Kind regards,

Human Resources

And it sounds like those of you who received that email had a lucky escape. At least if you pay for a TR at Ryanair you have a pretty secure, reasonably well paid, long term job. Those who get dropped out the other side of these sort of scams with a TR but no significant hours on type are in a worse position, and less employable, than those without a TR. Eur 20000 worse off, still inexperienced, unemployed, and now effectively restricted to a single aircraft type that has a surplus of pilots. In a bigger hole than before you started. Be sensible.
