Airline hiring and glasses

Would an airline (in a competitive hiring industry) choose someone without visual aid to one whom has visual aid - or would other factors like education, experience etc balance that out?

As long as you have a Class one medical, airline recruiters couldn't give a monkey's toss whether you wear glasses, contacts or a monocle.

The biggest problem for spectacle wearers is leaving your £250 prescription sunnies in the flight deck and then trying to get them back from the other end of the network.

I'd imagine if they did, you'd have grounds for a discrimination case.

You still need to look good for the interview, and the interviewer will probably like it better if you're wearing contacts instead of glasses for customer image. But not a big concern.

It doesn't matter whether you wear glasses or contacts for the interview.
I have worn glasses at all my interviews, it's not an issue.

I wear glasses on the job, it's not an issue and I have passenger contact.
