Lufthansa Cadetships
Hi all,
I am interested in applying for a Lufthansa Cadetship. Does anyone on here have experience of this program?
I am particularly interested in talking to anyone for whom German is not their native language.
I remember reading on the Lufthansa careers website that fluent German is a requirement. However on the Lufthansa Regional website I read German to a level of B1.
Could anyone please clarify what level of German is required and what defines fluent in this case?
I've been living in Germany for the past year and my German is good enough so that I can read a newspaper or hold everyday conversations. Does this constitute fluent in Lufthansa's opinion.
If you could share your personal experiences I'd much appreciate it.
Regards,
Mike

As far as I know LH Regional / Cityline does not take part in the LH Cadetship but mainly takes ready entries, could be wrong though.
For the multiple stages of selection for the LH (mainline) cadetship I am pretty sure you'll fall behind fast if you're not fluent in German. First stage (DLR testing) should be managable, but I think you'll have a disadvantage in the following stages with interviews, group discussions, etc. in German.
They have TONS of people applying everytime they run the process, afaik about 3-5% of all applicants actually make it into their training program.
Good luck though should you try.

Actually there is no rule about language "discrimination" in europe. Nearly all German airlines require fluent german, as far as I know it is basicly a requirement by the local authority.
