Hi everyone,
I see they are looking for 24 F/Os this year.
Anybody on here who works for them that can tell us anything about them, good, bad or in different?!

A friend who flew there on contract briefly a few years ago said it's Lufthansa SOPs or nothing - they are part owned by Lufthansa (and THY). So if a TRTO teaches using these SOPS, it would certainly have an advantage.
Sunexpress are based in Antalya, and are considered by Turks to be in the top tier of private airlines after THY in the country, although if you search the forums you'll see some vicious comments about the politics in the place.

According to intercockpit they'll hire 20 FO's in the next 6 months trough them.But only german speaking students will be invited to the assesment,even if there's NO german language requirement with sun express!!

SunExpress jobs, payscales and entry requirements. send them your cv and/or phone - perhaps you'll get lucky & be invited to their DLR test...
According to Turkish newspapers, SunEx is trying to hire 50 F/Os, but as not enough locals - foreigners also being screened. No mention of German language requirement. Also know several F/Os there who can't speak a word of German...

Guys a part of SunExpress is belong to Lufthansa and other part of it belongs to Turkish Airlines.But it is based on Antalya by the time there are 2 other bases in İzmir and İstanbul.Mostly flying Germany in international also they fly to almost all airports in domestic.That is most of pilots in SunExpress are Turkish so as I known speaking German is not required.But of course it would be an advantage if you speak German but not an obligation.

A bunch of Dutch pilots went straight to sun-express few months ago.
Dutch school,Dutch students, no german to be spoken, only during the DLR-test I guess...

Sun Express also use Stella Aviation for non rated pilots. The latest groups are Turkish, mainly ex military, non type rated, they go to Stella for the complete course then back to SXS for the Company conversion training, and the other group are those recommended by Stella, which has links with both TY and LH, All FOs do the full DLR test, candidates have a month or so to practice on the DLR site via a link on the DLR site and a passcode. There are new pilots, both Cpts and FOs joining every month. The starting- flying process ( inc base checks) takes a long time for non Turkish due to work permit issues, typically 3 months delay. If you qualify for ZFT this is more attractive as the type rating can be issued and then it is just another sim if you do not fly within 21 days of doing the ZFT, but it gets you in the system.
A lot of the ex- miltary FOs have time on A300 etc but no civil commercial experience and some are 40 plus on joining. There are a few 200 hr guys joining as well, mainly Dutch. Speaking German is not required. As one person observed, SXS is regarded as the creme de la creme of the charters and currently the pass rate at interview is about 20% or so.
If you look at the Turkish market is is still dominated by TY, with links to SXS, LH and Pegasus doing mainly code share for TY. With the reduction in flying hours allowed and new a/c coming SXS will need more crews throughout 2011. Good luck
