CX Interview for Singapore Applicants?
Hi there!
Am wondering if there are any Singaporeans who recently applied for CX Cadet program. Has anyone gotten a callback or email from Cathay?

sponsorship hunter, CX flight crew recruitment just had an interview session in London for UK applicants. Check with them to see when the next round is happening again. And if u are asked to come to Hong Kong, CX will provide full return tickets and hotel accommodation. So u don't have to pay. Do some more research to find out yourself. Good luck

@Sponsorship hunter yes they do! The only problem: At the moment Ethiad is only accepting UAE nationals and for Lufthansa you need to be completely fluent in german....

I sent out my application two weeks ago. Of course I am not expecting to receive anything in the near future. However since I am from Canada and that CX held interviews in Vancouver in August, is there any chance that they will send me invite for Stage 1 Interviews in Q1 2010?
I know that CX accepts applications at all time but do they only call interviews on specific times of year? (i.e. I have to wait for next August?!)
Thanks for your replies and good luck to all of you who made it to Stage 2 & 3!

Hi all, im a newbie here,
I sent my application off to CX back in september and got a phonecall from a lovley man from Hong Kong telling me I had a interview and a Email would shortly follow, and it did telling me I had a interview in London in Feburary.
It mentioned that the interview would involve 'technical questions.' This is quite vague, does anyone know what type of technical questions a interview such as this may involve?
Thanks

I've also been asked to interview in February...i'd almost forgotten i'd applied as it's been so long but don't give up hope...might be a long time coming but at least there's someone recruiting!
Not sure what to expect from the technical exam or the technical interview so i suppose it's out with the manuals to get the old grey matter working again! Been a few months since i graduated so hoping it all comes flooding back.
I'm liking the idea of interviews in Hong Kong...especially if it's an all expenses paid trip...i wonder what sort of time scame they're looking at for all this. I presume they'll be interviewing from all over the world rather than just from the UK if we were to get that far?!?!

The technical questions could be on anything of PPL standard but they will give you some more information with the initial interview invitation.
@ chile
you are looking at around 3-4 weeks after you initial interview for the interviews in Hong Kong and it will usually be people from 2 or 3 locations on the same day
After that, you are looking around 4-5 weeks until 2 weeks flight grading in Adelaide and another 6-8 weeks until your start date. Obviously these will change depending on location
And yes! Hong Kong and Adelaide are expenses paid!

The invitation email just says 'a technical paper' and technical questions would be part of the interview.
This is my first interview with an airline so I do not really know what to expect, do you think I should try and ask for some clarification of the technical part?

Hey Nick185,
Well as Citation89 has already written above, the technical questions will be of PPL standard, i.e, questions could range anywhere from " How does an airplane fly? " , "Bernouli's principle" to " How do winglets help an airplane?" . Also I'm sure they will ask you questions about the fleet that Cathay operates and also their specifications (like which aircraft flies to which destination , also how does the jet engine work, etc.) . Don't worry just the basics of aviation, i.e. if you do not have any experience, if u already hold a license then anything that you've learnt before.
Also if I'm not wrong usually you would get a booklet from CX which will tell you what sorts of questions will be asked. I hope I have cleared your questions ?
Also if anyone else has experienced an interview or wants to add something please do so, so all of us can prepare for it.
Thanks
Regards,
Rahul Pereira
