Christ, it's scary.

Follow your dream yes.

But What happens when in 2 years when your qualified and flybe ****can you as there is no requirement for crew? Just as you walk out of the school with your new blue book.

I am not saying don't train, go modular, save 30k, and you can still walk into flybe.

it has always been my dream too and I will sacrifice anything to get to where I want to be.
Careful there buddy. Even your parents home? It's not yours to sacrifice.

By sacrifice anything TheBeak i didn't mean that to sound as if I have a blaazay attitude to securing my mum and dads house in order to get a loan... far from it. It is a big worry for me especially if Flybe turn round and stick me in a holding pool for god knows how long.

By sacrifice anything I meant goin out drinking and "enjoying" myself, which I am willing to do.

Ok good for you. Really think what you'll do if the worst happens the other end of the process. You have a better attitude to training than most, keep realistic and keep a healthy respect for the debt and you'll be fine.

Not the point

Sorry, what was the question again? oh the flybe programme...for a second I thought it was about “how am I going to pay for my course” or “ do you think I’m stupid because I chose the integrated route?” The Etihad programme thread, the Flybe, the OAA Netjets, The BA SSP, Excell Airways/OAA...every single one of them, the same names, so called “airline pilots/pprune specialists”(for the ones who believe that’s true..) come in and ruin the conversation by drifting to the same subject (go modular, don’t spend, don’t get loans...)which to me, it is a personal choice. If the gentleman, CaptainDan, wants this sort of advice, I believe he would’ve asked for! Good luck mate, so far I’ve only heard good things about it.

All my friends who have been through the intergrated route with CTC have told me to stay clear.

Two only managed 6month contracts with Easy and the BA guy is short of cash. The Loan is a killer.

Its an age old argument but now I think modular or working abroad is the way forward whilst doing training.

Well,poor you pilot wanna-never-be!
I see what you have tried to do there but it has backfired. Your statement implies I am a pilot, which I am. If a wannabe = wants to be then surely a wanna-never-be = is?

I offer my advice, you offer your drivel. It's funny you should bring up bullying - you come across as someone who has been. It's ok, we're not all bullies Rapha. You're either that, an FTOs creation or a plant by PPRUNE.

Anyway, please do have your thread back guys and girls, FLYBE are a good airline and it's great that you are trying to be selected from the start - but be careful with the finances and your choice between MPL or CPL/IR.

Keep an eye on Flight ref- Flybe. All good things come to those that wait....perhaps that was a bit melodramatic. Rumour is they are about to recruit externally.....

Well, this thread is certainly proof that you shoudn't do drugs. What are some of you guys actually on?

As far as training and finances are concerned, do what works for you, and as far as the argument about cost vs reward, just make sure you come into this job with your eyes wide open and that you are sure of your motivations for wanting to get into aviation. It's not for everyone (yet, you'll still find guys who've been at it for years who have moaned about it since the day they started and are still moaning like a whore even now.....), but there are many, many guys who really wouldn't do anything else regardless of what the pitfalls may be.

Turning to Flybe, they have already started recruiting externally. I believe there is a substantial number of little fishes being scooped out of the holding pool and onto a course in the next few weeks. It is likely that more will follow at an as yet unspecified point in time, and there are others still who will be invited in for a swim in their place.

Not everything in this life is doom and gloom.

Otto -these fishes are Flybe cadets through their respective MAPS schemes. To claim they are recruiting externally is some way wide of the mark! Unless of course you know of anything more than the MAPS boys and girls?

I've just read 37 scabby messages - ONE of which has a VERY basic suggestion as to what to expect at interview - and 36 arguments between so called professionals.

If you want this kind of chat, start a facebook account - don't try hide it under an elitist thread name.

Now PM PPRuNe management and try to convince them that this thread is worthy of being re-opened.
