What about the Age ?
Hi guys!
I was wondering if there`s a minimum age to an airliner hire someone, you know.. let`s say a guy with 20 or 21 years old has done alll his training and he`s ready to get hired...let`s say this guy applies to Ryanair or other cadet scheme...would he be very young for this job ? what you guys think about it ?
Best Regards!

To be honest RISO, I don't think its about age so much as maturity. You cannot discriminate on age owing to the fact that some 18-20 year olds could be far more suited to being an airline pilot than some 30-40 year olds, similarly this works the otherway around obviously. So I think you will find that age doesn't have a particularly large place to play in airline or cadet selections.

If you have a licence, you are employable. The interview will sort the men from the boys.
In the UK, the minimum age for holding a CPL/IR is 18. You can't unfreeze it until you are 21.
Always makes me laugh, you can fly a Boeing 747 when your a day after 18, but you can't drive a drive over here until you are 21!
Horgy
