HWD whilst giving you some splendidly technically correct advice has forgotten to add that few airlines offer the luxury of a combined MCC and TR. Most will ask that you have a MCC completed prior to undertaking a TR. Reason is cost and availability of the sims. Last thing they need is to be training you for an MCC when they have potentially thousands of pilots doing OPC/LPC's/command sim checks etc etc. The upshot is that you should go and get a MCC in advance or else risk missing out on that RHS job. You do not want to be in the position of having a type rating starting next week and then be advertising on these forums seeking a partner at short notice to do an MCC to tick the boxes.

The reason for posting is that somebody might find this rarely mentioned aspect of the MCC. Bond, for example, offer a combined MCC and TR. Highly relevant if you are intending to do a SSTR before you have gone down the MCC route.
