Aviation Recruitment Agencies

Hi folks,
Does anyone here work in aviation recruitment? I am currently working for an IT recruiter but would love to get into aviation and seeing ads from Parc made me wonder what the aviation recruitment industry is like.
Do airlines use recuiters more often then their own ads? What are pilots general feelings on airline recruiters, are they generally a good bunch or are there many cowboys (like there are in IT recruitment!!) and therefore not really trusted? I realise some pilots or tech staff work on a contract basis so I presume they work for the recruiters who then bill the airlines?
Any info much appreciated, Im based in Ireland but would move to where there were good, reputable aviation recruiters based if I could get a job there...
Paul
