Internship at airlines

Internship at airlines
My first post!!
Well I'm now majoring in management to have a back up degree just in case, although I only want to be a pilot and nothing more. I will be attending ATP flight school, but have to wait until I'm finished with college. Anyway, I want to do an internship at a major airline such as CAL or DAL to give me a "boost" when it comes to applying to the majors. My question is, even if I am not majoring in aviation, if I do a management internship with a major airline, will it give me that "boost" that could come in very handy??
