Im working at the moment but it is minimum wage and wont be for long. The thing with university is, Im looking at 200 UCAS points approx. and that isnt gonna be enough for a respective university course. Agggghhh! At least I have the spirit and determination, but I dunno...Cheers for your input lads.

Lee, how do you know it isn't going to be enough. In my day you could go through clearing, I imagine that is still in place. There could be a course out there that is perfect for you!!. Otherwise, you could retake some of those A levels etc and try for University next year.

Sagey, firstly congrats on the Wings Scheme! I hope you don't mind asking, how old are you? I was just wondering the age spread of your colleagues on the wings scheme.

I am 27! - but you can get onto the course up to 29 (ie not yet 30). I imagine that I will be one of then older cadets, but there are others my age and some even older. It just happened that way for me. Would I change it, I don't know, probably not. I have had some great experiences working for a small company leading my own team, then moving into the City. I just know that I don't want to do this for another 5/10/15/20 etc years!. Going to miss the salary though haha.

I hope that helps

Cheers for that. As I say, I'll be 27 when I can apply myself. Nice to know the course is not full of spotty 18 year olds

easy - Hope you're not implying Lee's spotty?!

I applied to CTC last summer and got told to bugger off and finish my degree. Not that the degree was the main thing but having already left one they weren't sure I was up to it.

Going to go back next summer, should be with a 2:1 unless something goes horrendously wrong, and show them I am up to it!

I'll be 26 by then so I'm glad to hear Sagey got on at 27!

robintheflyingkiwi.********.com is a good site to see what its like out there. Robin was on one of my selection phases last year and got all the way. He's had a bad week this week but read down and he's having a great time.

Good luck to all those who apply, I'm pretty sure its the best course out there at the moment.
