Don't believe everything you read in terms of hours and type required. They might not take very low hours but they might take non-type rated. I always read adverts as what an airline would like ideally, but if they can't get that where do they turn to? Probably to those who have applied but don't have the type-rating.

Good luck....

I know of one pilot that has been taken from the pool with no type experience.

This is the blurb from the website, though you should be aware that it might not be fully up to date - some companies are very lax at keeping their web info updated:

What qualifications do pilot applicants need?

Minimum qualifications for pilot applicants are a UK or JAR-FCL, ATPL (or frozen ATPL), MCC course and 2500 hours flying experience, of which 500 hours must have been completed on a heavy turboprop or jet in excess of 15 tonnes. Applicants must also have the right of permanent abode in the UK.

On occasion, we may recruit type rated pilots with lower total experience, but a minimum of 500 hours on type.

Applications are generally reviewed in August/September for training courses commencing in January/February.
Doesn't look like Wannabes territory to me.

Probably not wannabes territory, Scroggs, but I know for a FACT that some guys were recruited with around 1000 hrs and no type-rating last year. And at that stage the company website had exactly the same requirements as you have just quoted. So I say again don't believe everything you read regarding requirements.

Also Monarch regularly recruit low hours via CTC.

Yes, but it will create chances elsewhere where you can apply!

Monarch Interview

Hi all!

Just wondered if anyone had any information about the Monarch assessment?

I believe it is just an interview, does anyone have any feedback from their experiences?

Cheers

Simple interview. No HR people, no tests. Two management pilots depending on who's available on the day.

I had an interview a few weeks back. It was a very relaxed and informal discussion about myself, background etc and about the company with 2 management pilots. No sim or tests..........Good Luck!!!

And you got there how?

Just for the record and because I and countless other people on the cusp of a first job are no doubt wondering but can either of those invited for interview advise what their total time was and how many Multi hours they had to have the letter drop through the postbox with:

"Monarch Airlines are happy to invite you to . . . . ."

Many Thanks
