@Aviator... Some of my classmates (even the one who won the price for best practical part) didn't got invited due to one ATPL exam under 75%. Don't know if our school chose this matter or the CAE..
@ReleasePT... Yes it has some mistakes. But those mistakes are very easy to find. I had my ATPL almost 4 years ago and while reading this book I found the mistakes myself.
This book is still the bible for assessments like Ryanair as they ask the same things. They also don't want you to go into detail, you just need to show that you know what you're talking about. Most of the mistakes in the book are detail related so don't worry. Buy the book, read it, live with it, sleep with it, make babies with it. It will get you through the technical part with no problems..

- Does anyone else in your family fly?
- Why Ryanair?
- Have you applied anywhere else?
- What would you do if you lost your medical?
- 3 Base choices
Technical
- How does a ASI work? (Explained in very simple terms, hand out the car window pressure builds up)
- How does the altimeter work? (I was asked to explain it as though it was my next door neighbour and he/she had no idea what static pressure was.)
- What do we use for navigation? (GPS, Radar, INS, VOR, DME)
- What is INS and how does it work? (Asked for a very simple explanation)
- Why do we need a load and trim sheet?
- Whats mach tuck?
- How do we counteract mach tuck?

Just an update..:
Got a phonecall earlier today: I was accepted and will be starting TR at EMA august 15th...:-)
I've opened a Facebook-group for anyone who is also starting at that date...
You can find it by searching for "Ryanair Type Rating EMA 15th August 2011"
Looking forward to hear from you...

@Aviator:
The questions vary from day to day and also depends on who is doing the interview. Some guys got difficult questions and were asked to explain in detail, others just had to give basic answers. Havenīt heard any story of Oxford students getting tougher questions.
ACE is a good book to prepare yourself. I also got the Pilot Reference Handbook, which has good illustrations.
@Nicolarsen: Congratz!

Unfortunately not, they don't provide feedback but i'm sure it was due to a poor simulator performance
There have been people asking how long it takes to receive a reply from CAE after applying, I finished the MCC on the Thursday/Friday and on the same day I applied to CAE, 1 day later I was asked to send my CV, 2 days after that I was asked if I could attend the assessment in 7 days time at Stansted.

@Aviator.... I'm not aware of the way CAE choses CV's and which they send. I got called by my school (which is a daughter company of CAE) if I wanted to send them my CV. They sended it to CAE and couple of hours later I was invited.(I was signed for 2 years with the RYR program on CAE website)

Quick question, how long does it normally take for CAE to get back in touch, applied over a month ago and being new to this dont know if thats normal or not, excuse my ignorance. Also each time i log into CAE it still just says, "You have applied to this program" Should you apply to both CAE and Oxford?

Don't worry. It wasn't meant to be an offensive response. Just a reminder that there are a lot of people applying and you have to be as lucky as winning the lottery to be invited to an airliner and passing their assessment.
