prospect us pilot job

HI all,

I received an e mail from a recruiting agency in Uk, they sent me a contract to serve as pilot with exxon mobil, in Nigeria,
I could not find that exxon mobil owns airplanes...
Do any of you receive a similar offer?

Thanks,

Lovis9.

Hi.

It is Scam.
I have recieved the same offer a few weeks ago, an as you I was sceptical. I did however play along for a while until a request for money was made, in order for me to get an travellers insurance...

Take a look in the forum for Rotorheads, and search for Briggs Consultant...

I have received several emails from Nigeria,
the email adress was a yahoo address, and names did not correspond to the one on the web page they gave me...
what you have probably is a hacked page, same thing as "phishing"scam.

they will ask you: to send 500$ to apply.
and come with 30'000 $ directly to africa, where they will wait for you and you will start your type rating.can be a good deal!

and do not forget :make your testament!!!! (preferably to a320rider)

I actually was getting phone calls from Nigeria this time last year telling me that I had a job offer out there.

Quite strange, seeing as I never actually applied for any jobs there.

Will have to bring this up at the next BALPA EOC methinks.

Nigeria and exxonMobil

Ok heres the deal, I'm a pilot here in Lagos, yes ExxonMobil does have a flying wing here and have some Kingairs, 1900D's and one twin otter. They use it exclusively for their staff here in Nigeria and they mainly fly to Eket, a town near the camerounian border. The email you recieved is most likely a 419(fraud)email, cos I know for a fact that no company(oil company or not) will pay a guy with 700 hours $18k and I'm assuming that is in a month. And that will be too small fo one year even to Nigerian standards, so it just doesn't add up. So my advice? Dont pay too much attention to it. I know that the real exxonMobil(a very lovely company to fly for) is in the process of taking two co-pilots at the moment just FYI.

Recruiting Scams

From ExxonMobil website: "ExxonMobil does not use recruiting or placement agencies that charge candidates an advance fee of any kind (e.g., placement fees, immigration processing fees, etc.)"

That being said, it sounds like your email was infact a scam. However, it does seem like a good company to work for, if you get in.
