Keep your heads up
Hello.
Just wanna tell you all about my fight to get "the job". Funded my own 737 rating but didn't get a job right away. got one six month later, a contract for 4 month. Got a total of 250 hours on the type but its hard to get a job anyway. but now i finally got a permanent job on the 737. My experience is that is you keep your head high you will get the job.

congratulations , your "fight" has paid off.
That's probably why its a contract for just 4 months; people are willing to fund TR's so you get no stability and get dropped like a hot potato when not needed. Plus you spend a great deal of your career scratching around short term contract carriers who treat you like dirt (PPruNe is full of moaning threads about these ones) for no carrier with any decency (are there any left?) will touch you; Congratulations? I'm not so sure.

I hear you and its probeley the case for many pilot. I have worked for 4 years with a small regional carrier, and because of that I don't owe that much.
But I agreee with you cos many of the low cost carriers do not pay you much, they now you need the job.
But I was just trying to let others know that just because you do not get the job right away , you need to keep your spirit up.
