If you could afford it....
....do you reckon you'd improve your chances of landing a job, if when you send your CV, you state that you're willing to contribute towards/fund a type rating on the basis they'll employ you?

Dont encourage them mate!! Most companies state their requirments so if you put a Cv into a company that require a type rating to be funded by yourself then its the same thing as stating you will pay for it. I think over the next few months we are going to see a little change in the whole self spon type rating that certain companies make you sign up for so hang in there just a wee bit longer.

It will make no difference what so ever.
Airlines are only interested in what you have now.
If you have to pay for their TR, they know that there will be no shortage of takers. Easy, Ryanair Vueling etc etc
