Idea for Fund Raising for the PPRuNe Fund - JAA FEEDBACK Q's FOR SALE!!!

Subject to IFR's approval of course!!

Just having a clear out of my ATPL course work and it seems a shame to bin all my feedback.

I have a total of well over 500 questions from all 14 JAA subjects - it's a while since I past my exams but a friend who borrowed them recently said alot of them appeared in his Instruments paper last month so I guess the're still ok...

I was thinking of somewhere around the £20-30 area + post and packing...what'd ya think ???

I need to re-type most of them up to remove my notes which make take a month or so of my free time....but in general good idea or not....

Your FEEDBACK would be most welcome...

JB. ANY idea that puts a few £'s into the PPRuNe Fund is a good idea, especially when they don't break the rules.

I would be most pleased to receive some cash when the buyer is happy.

Thanks very much for the very kind thought.

Great.
I have already mailed JB with an offer and contact details.

Shall I pay pprune direct or pay JB on receipt of notes and he (or she) can forward cash to the fund.

Regards

Well, since you ask!

The fund paid out over £3800 towards the Astraeus Cadet Scheme, which has just completed the training of the 5 cadets.

That left the fund with around £3200. Since then I have actively sold TSR2 prints, badges and other things. We have had a few more donations than usual, and we are about to receive some of the training costs back, £1175. The five cadets, once they are gainfully employed are commited to pay the fund £3000 each over a three year period. This is their contribution to the fund, which will make the fund wealthier by £15,000 by September of 2005. This a gratitude payment in return for being given a chance. Astraeus have too demonstrated a real committment to assist our wannabes, at considerable cost to the company.

'Blindside', it will be remembered did a great marathon run and I have now received over £400 worth of pledges in sponsorships for his run - with around £200 to come. That was a very fine gesture by him and we should all give him a vote of thanks.

The current state of play is that we will have something like £6000 in the bank - BEFORE the GatBash, and after making all the necessary payments to the hotel.

What we raise at the bash, by way of a raffle and auctions, will add some more lolly no doubt. No doubt, because everyone really supports the purpose and give generously.

So there you are. A highly satisfactory situation. It should be noted that people DO take the fund seriously, and I am sometimes very warmed by the generosity of some who send in surprise cheques for anything from a fiver up to a couple of hundred pounds. That makes it all worthwhile, and they will never know how much I appreciate it. They will never know how much the Fund appreciates it.

There will be other things happening in the next few months, including the award of 5 FREE distance learning ATPL groundschools.

Watch this space!

Thanks IFR

Hopefully I can generate some serious interest with this.

Please post if your are interested to buy a pack of Q's, this way I can gauge if it's worth me preparing the Q's and if your happy with the suggested price...

Not sure what the P+P will be at this stage but I would like to arrange it as a S.A.E system so i'm not handling lots of cash and I can just forward on any cheques to the PPRuNe Fund account.

From a selling point of view - the Air Law and JAR OPS feedback I have seems to be approx 80% of the question bank....

Come on guys - it's a good cause and the p!ss up when you have that sheet of paper with all 14 exams past is a good night out..!!!

This........is sounding really good. Thanks JB.

The 5 ATPL courses are a school donation, which were generously made available to us some time ago. The 5 lucky people will be 'tested' in the course of the next few months.

Thanks for the effort.

Hi JB007

I have the following exams in just 5 weeks - I'd love to get your feedback questions - especially for Air Law - I'm at a small school so they don't have a lot of these to give us.

Subjects I'd like:

Air Law
HPL
Meterology
Gen Nav
Ops Procs

Please email me at [email protected] and I'll make a generous donation to the PPrune fund. I'm in Florida and will of course pay for rush delivery.

Cheers,
Barry Clague

Sensible

Yes there is a plan commencing in July that will give to 5 worthy selected wannabes, a distance learning ATPL. The selection will be tough and will be assessed by a group of mentors.

More later.

I gave one after the last bash.

However, it has grown a little since then from the sale of TSR2 prints and 4 monthly donations to around the £7175 mark.

From October it will grow still more by £500 per month - as the Astraeus cadets put money into the fund as part of their own original committment to pay back and reward it for their start.

They are all on the line now and enjoying themselves too.
