Latest news from CTC ATP-ville?

Been looking at the threads posted around the end of last year and the beginning of this year re. CTC (Wings) ATP scheme. A load of people heading off for Phase 2 and Phase 3.

How did you chaps and chapesses get on? What's the latest reports of CTC's hold pool?

WX Man I also read the ATP Scheme posts with interest, it seems one crops up every few days. Each post however asks the same set of questions

How do you get through stages 2, 3 and 4?
How many people in the hold pool?
What was the time between the acceptance letter and phase 2?

Starting with the easiest question:

The hold pool is fluid as fast as guys and gals move out of the pool an AQC course finishes and the pool is topped up. Currently the numbers are low but White tail cadets are filling the same hold pool as ATP guys. This means CTC have a larger supply of pilots from which to choose which isn't a bad thing.

As for Stages 2 and 3 be yourself that's the most important advice. Go over your basic aero maths - that will help on the maths test. Discuss freely during group tests don't open your mouth without thinking and listen to what others have to say. You may be asked to sum up at the end of a discussion period so LISTEN. Work through various stage 3 problems methodically and once again apply some thought to what you are about to do, or say. Remember to LISTEN to others. During the interview be yourself don't get caught out trying to fit the airline pilot mold. Stages 1, 2 and 3 are assessing your ability to become a multi crew airline pilot. Stage 4 the sim, puts your flying ability and latent multicrew ability into practice. Yes it will be hard going but if you apply yourself and LISTEN to what you are told you will move into the Hold Pool. I think the Stage 4 failure rates are higher now than they used to be don't let that bother you guys and gals. See it as a challenge.

As for time between each stage who knows. Between 1 and 2 you may wait 4 - 5 months but once you find out you have passed Stage 2 start pushing for the next Stage.

Good luck all

Just as an additional to the above. The AQC Sim is currently held in the B737 - 700 FBT. In the future it may be run in one of the Airbus sims they have. I know it's a generic course but this could possibly lead to some streamlining within the hold pool.
