Okay Airways
Read today on Avweb that the new (and first) private Chineese airline Okay Airways are looking to recruit approx 8000 foreign pilots. Is this true, does anyone have any more info as Okay Airways dont seem to have a website.

Hmmm interesting..
They have a good point saying that China has no (or little) GA, so they are going to have to attract foreigners to fly their aircrafts. So the question is...what are the plans for expansion. They have just started with 1 or 2 leased 737-900's (former Korean Air). Wonder when this number will increase. We'll see.

Ronnie - The 8000 refers to the requirements of ALL the new private chinese airlines over the next 10 years, not just OKAY airways.
No airline has 8000 pilots, that's not far off every ATPL in the UK!

Duty time
With 8000 hours and only 2 aircraft I think that duty time issues would be less pressing than noted in other forums on pprune.
In fact, in your spare time you will no doubt have time to learn the language(s) and pick up other skills such as knitting, golf, taxidermy, etc...

Here's an example of an online marketing campaign gone awry: China has approved a number of airlines to start low-fare services on domestic routes. The first airline launched this past Friday, and it's called OK Air.
Now, emblazoned on the sides of each new OK Air jet is the logo for the airline, incorporating it's domain name of okair.net.
This picture has been all over the Chinese and foreign media, but the website at www.okair.net is still not built and is not functioning. I did a whois lookup and found the company also bought okayair.net, but that too is sans website.
You would think that which such hoopla, the company could at least launch its website on time, or at least put up a very simple page that tells users like me that the website will be available soon.
