Question A Question of Timing?

Hello

This year I have a decision to make and I would like to run it past you all and canvas your opinions…

I am currently planning when to take my CPL/IR. My initial thought was to complete it next summer (2006), giving me enough time get all the money in place.

On completion of the licence one of the first things on my to do list was to apply to the CTC Wings ATP programme, as success on this can give you an excellent start in this line of work.

However I have recently found out that if I wait till next summer, I will be 3 months older than the eligible age.

So the crux of my question is, with any hindsight you have gained, how would you play it? Would you wait till next summer and have the chance of finishing without debt, or get a loan and finish 6 months earlier to have a chance with CTC? (of course I realise that only a small proportion of people get into the holding pool and therefore this could be an expensive gamble!)

Thanks
JM
