A career in flying

Hi everyone. At the moment I am 17 and doing a two-year BTEC IT course at college, which is equivalent to three A levels. My long-term aim is to become a pilot - preferably commercial, but I am thinking about the military, flying the same kind of aircraft.

It seems to me that it will be very difficult to do this though. My only options seem to be to either to get sponsored (which, as fas as I know, is highly unlikley), or to look into going to the Navy or RAF.

Can anyone please give me any guidance? I see that most minimum requirements (for example, for the RAF) seem to be about 5 GCSEs and 2 A levels or equivalent, so this should be okay as long as I pass my course.

Thanks a lot for the information. Of course money is the big problem but their FAQ does explain the options. Very interesting!

I am in fact very near to EPTA which is at Bournemouth - I suppose they could be worth looking into as well.
