Air Southwest Interview
I received a phone call from Air Southwest on Monday for an interview next week. They have apparently been interviewing this week as well. Just wondering if anybody has been and if they can provide any feedback as to whether it is personality based interview or technical or both? Any tips would be appreciated.

Know someone who attended within the last week - apparently nothing much to concern you - just a bit about your training/ background etc. No tech questions. Interview was two-on-one. one guy asked questions, the other made notes and looked at the logbooks!
Best of luck - mind sharing your experience etc with us (my contact was low hours, which is good news)

EGBKFLYER in response to your question I currently have 1400 hrs TT 210 of that is Multi - all instructing time with a bit of parachute flying thrown in. Overall still reasonably low in experience. Does your contact know whether he or she has progressed to the sim stage? I believe it is done on the BAC-111 sim at Cranebank.

My mate has a lot less (sub 400TT). He's heard nothing yet I believe. I also have it on good authority that you're right about it being the 1-11 for the sim ride.
Best of luck

Personality based interview.
Two decent interviewers.
Nothing tricky.
£16.4K.NO DUTY PAY!!
£10k bond for 3 yrs
PLH base.
About 12 jobs - depending on how many new A/C.
1-11 sim check in Dec for the lucky ones.
Average 6 sectors/day
Best thing about ASW is the people, Sutton Harbour not too good.
Most people interviewed are young low houred or old high hours.
Generally not a good job if your planning on it as a career airline but its alright if your planning on staying for a year or so. Management know this hence the low starting pay and large bond.

Did you chaps who were lucky enough to get an interview email CVs speculatively or reply to an ad in Flight? When did you do this?
The email address I was given didn't work, so I resorted to sending my CV via snail mail a few weeks ago.

done interview, got sim ride (1-111) in a couple of weeks they've had my cv for over 6 months, sent email and post plus a few updates with follow on phone calls. You can't expect to send a CV on monday and be interviewed on friday. Persistance, patience and nearly being a pain in the ASS is how you get an interview unless you are lucky.
Also got Netjets and BMI Reg. soon, will keep you posted.
Have heart, things are looking up.........................!

Just thought I would bring this back up to the top. Any news from last weeks interviews? Very premature, I know, but was curious what the staff travel for families is like out of the deep dark west.....its seems a long way down there!

I passed the interview and have the sim check next week. As for staff/family travel arrangements I never asked them at interview, will hopefully get the job first and worry about that later! If anybody knows anything I am all ears.
