Parc Aviation interview, age limit?

I see that Parc Aviation carry out interviews for their type rating course. I also know that you have to pay around £800 for this privallage. I would like to hear from those that have attended these interviews to find out how many were successful. On one session there were 11 applicants and only 3 were accepted. I understand that people have to be eliminated but surely they will have all reached a certain standard by this stage CPL,IR Mulit crew etc) so it does seem pretty tough. Those that have made the scheme i would be interested to get an idea of their age. I.e. below 25 , below 30 or above 30. All replies eagerly awaited.
Dont want to part with £800 only to be eliminated due to age factor.

I assume this is for the Air Aisia contact, the trouble is you pay to get a type rating/job on the 737, however when they get the new 320's what happens ? Do you pay again ? and then just keep on paying !

Hi,

I did the interview last week and was succesfull (only 3 or 4 out of 12 got though this time)... (There were courses where 7 out of 12 got through...)

It's 800 euros (not £) for the interview and you get to do several numerical, verbal and psychological tests, an interview and a simcheck on the 737-200 (and you get feedback about all the tests and the interview, which is always interesting)

I don't think age is limiting 'cuz I've heard of people who're doing their type rating course who are married and have children....

If you got more questions, just send me a PM

A couple of points:
Assesment fee is Euro800, thats about £500.
AirAsia still haven't confirmed their choice for fleet renewnal. As a seasoned 737 operator it will take something huge for them to goto Airbus. Inital contract is for 2000hours. 737s will be with them for at least the next three years.

Ages on my course where 22, 25, 34 and 35. Others I know who also wwent thru ranged from 20 to 30 so age doesn't seem to matter on selection. One selection did select 6 but 3-4 is the norm.

Hi thanks to all those who have replied so far. Its good to hear that older people are also getting onto the scheme. Not too concerned about the 737 or A320 argument as it will take a few years for Airasia to get the A320 fleet size up to a respectable number. One only has to look at easyjet to see how long it takes for a change of fleet.
