just a question

may be far fetched, but can one apply at the airlines with just the written atpl exams passed.
in my case i would obtain the licence after passing a skill test, can be done during the typerating training, as i am in the process of converting a foreign licence into the jaa atpl with the caa.

what i am thinking is, that with the written jaa atpl exams passed and the hours i have, the airline that would hire me based just on the written results, would send me to the typerating, knowing that when i pass the checkride i would simultanously obtain the atpl licence with the typerating endorsed.

cheers trot

G'day Trot,
Very unlikely to happen in today's market. I know a couple of guys with thousands of hours on 737's as check captains in Asia that wanted to do this and were told "no thanks, we want to see your JAR Licence".
